Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The thing that really gets my goat about the Gaiman stuff is that he's rich, charismatic, and has a fan base that's into some dark stuff. He could easily have found ladies that were into that kind of stuff, in a way that would at least have been superficially consensual (the power differential between artist and fan still makes it problematic, but it's not like groupies aren't a thing). But judging from the article, it seems it was specifically the non-consensual aspects he found appealing.

Separating the creation from the creator is easy in an intellectual sense, until your own money is involved.

As in, "Do I want to help pay for the next summer home for a person who has done what this person did?"
then it's all lines in the sand, shades of grey etc slippery slope and all that.

There's a tv series in the works, that will see the flare up of a very large fandom and those who decry the IP/creator, but for the vast majority of the population they will just shrug and enjoy the show or not.

In this case, I have met Gaiman. I'm not a young and vulnerable woman, so he didn't show off any of this creepiness towards me. It's still a bit galling to realize this person who presented as warm and empathetic was clearly anything but and he was apparently using social training he received as a child to get what he wanted out of people.

If we're still talking about Gaiman, even prior to this article, both Netflix and Amazon have been wrapping up their relationships with him already, following the first hints of this last year. I don't think this is going to be something he can waltz away from.

I'm not sure what it would be a metaphor for, but...has anyone tried smoked brisket pizza? Apparently it's all the rage in the (American) Midwest right now.

  • Hand-tossed crust (deep dish)
  • KC-style BBQ sauce
  • Colby-Jack cheese
  • Smoked chopped brisket
  • Dill pickle slices and coleslaw added after cooking/cutting.
Seems pretty simple. I think I'll cook one up this weekend and report back.
At the risk of (re)opening an “is pizza a sandwich” debate, that is 100% an open faced brisket sandwich masquerading as a pizza.

Also, just for fun, open faced sandwiches are not sandwiches, they are extra large canapés or a bunch of crap on bread, or some dumbass thing someone wanted to make difficult to eat.

That series of posts really looks like you're trying to drive them away, without officially driving them away. Not a great look, considering.
