Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Funny y'all mention the "authentic" food discussion. I was down in Phoenix visiting family. I went with my brother and cousin and their families. They kept saying they wanted some "authentic" Mexican food while on the trip. That kind of puzzled me becasue I live in Minneapolis and we have "authentic" places as good as anything i've had in AZ, TX, or CA. However, they live a ways out of the cities and their towns have basic American style food with limited options.

Anyways, they found a place either by googling or word of mouth. Probably one of the worst dining experiences. Staff was nice, service good, food was just bad. Everyone thought so, it was unanimous. This is the only time Ive had Guac made at the table that wasnt any good. Its maybe the only time ive had guac that wasnt any good at all.

I offered to take them around to the great places the city has to offer, but they politely declined as they would have to go to "the city" to get it. 🤷‍♂️
That's a shame, because there's plenty of great places in the Twin Cities. Do they get freaked out by the suburbs too? There's good places there which are at least easier to find parking and such. I get not liking driving into the downtown area if you're not familiar with them. I know St. Paul pretty well since I used to work downtown and go there frequently during hockey season, but I don't really know my way around Minneapolis so I don't like going there if I don't have to. I mentioned not liking Minneapolis with a coworker once and he immediately responded "I know man, there's so many Somali people everywhere..". Me: "uh.. they're fine, I just get lost easy and GPS tends to lose signal with the tall buildings."

Most awkward coffee break ever for the remaining few minutes we both sat in silence drinking our coffee before going back to work.

My cousin just has kids and leads a busy life. Though, those kids are getting older so we are hanging out a bit more.

My brother on the other hand, is more the type that has lived away from the city for decades, yet always thinks he knows exactly what life there is like there. I cant go into those opinions, nor do I wish to.

I went to a Burger King in Mexico because it seemed like a weird thing to do
