Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

--

I'm starting to feel like the promise of cyberpunk is finally arriving. If I didnt live in such an idyllic place I'm sure I could tap into that vibe some more, but yeah.

Or I've just been looking up too much cy_borg.
Wouldn't it be nice to actually get a side of tech with our dystopia main course?

How about an AI device that would listen to everything going on all around it at all times, without anyone's consent? But it's designed by Johnny Ive, so it'll look great.

The product will be capable of being fully aware of a user's surroundings and life, will be unobtrusive, able to rest in one's pocket or on one's desk, and would be a third core device a person would put on their desk after a MacBook Pro and an iPhone.

Anyone remember when trackable ID cards where railed against in the Pacific NW? I dont know if it was thing elsewhere.

Remember when that all went away when people decided to put a real time tracking device in their pocket, or on their wrist?

"No no, its cool, I signed up to be monitored 24/7!"

Edit the Second: There is a new AI company who thinks their chatbox can perform complex tasks for a work day without further prompts.

They also claim the intent is to 'not replace people'.

Remember when "South Park" roasted Twitter? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
