I have to give my boss credit. He has always been upfront about things and been ready to listen to other people -- even been persuaded to change his mind on occasion.
For two months he's said, "We can't lose you. I'm going to fight this. Trust the system." And I didn't say what I was thinking, which was, "The system is designed to maximize profit for the shareholders. And I am not a shareholder."
Yesterday, he told me his last avenue was blocked. I let him come to the conclusion I'd come to months ago, on his own terms. I'm proud of myself.
I'm just so exhausted of all the back-and-forth. I think I'll take a week or two after the start of the year just to recover my energy and sanity points, before wading back out into active searching.
