Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Pro Tip: In that situation it's always best to deactivate your own account, first, then walk out.
It was even better than that. A VP apparently realized just after I was sent the list and called me begging me not to tell anyone and to do my own account last.

I ended up doing the list and then myself. I couldn't see profit to be had by just being an ass in real life. That's what I use this thread for.

The funny ones are when the person claiming the high educational ground make statements that clearly show they don't have the education that they claim, like the time I got in a debate with an "immunologist" who had no idea that vaccines aren't a 100% defence against that disease.

Yes, that is the famous one. Edit: I know they do the invites because I have been invited before. Obviously some slip through, nothing is 100%.

It was worse than that. They stated that because a town with a population of a couple of thousand people announced that had a 100% vaccination rate for MMR had about 30 cases of Measles, vaccines were worthless. Zero understanding.
As someone who has grown up with an informal medical education as the son of an immunologist, I’ve had LOTS of discussions like these.

Fortunately, with what I’ve learned AND having an expert in my pocket, I know LOTS of sources to cite from, as well as the skinny on a lot of MDs who are deliberately misleading the public.

Which, FWIW, is not a new thing. There was a doctor over 100 years ago who was penning op-ed pieces for his local newspaper against vaccines despite being fully vaccinated.

Mine wasn't about vaccines, just being invited to be the audience at NASA zoom events and stuff. Mechanical Engineers don't do a lot on vehicles anymore, fuel systems mostly, still an enthusiast, and can ask relevant questions w/o mansplaining a woman like that one guy in the example did.

I honestly don't know if the post I just saw was more shallow than ignorant, or more ignorant than shallow. Either way, it's one of those rare times when this...
