D&D 4E Podcast 16: Did they just say Drow are Fey in 4E?!

I'm not sure if that means they are any more related to normal fey than Eladrin or Elves, depends how they are using the term now. But it does suggest they interact with other kinds of fey in general, so I guess Drow live in a feywild side of the underdark?

If 4e elves are a branch of eladrin, which themselves are a variety of fey in 4e, then surely drow (dark elves) would have some ancestry to the fey as well.

Not really controversial.

Though what it does start to do is beg the question on the nature of of "fey" in the rules. Such as, does charm person affect fey in 4e.

Yeah, I heard that too. It's interesting and we'll see if there are spells like Charm Person or if they're going to take a more broad stroke such as AE where you fold multiple versions into one spell.

I just listened to the podcast in the background while surfing the Web and I missed this! When was this said?

Finally! :)

In my campaign elves are fey, too. They're also not available as a player race...
I wish they'd done the latter, as well :P

After listening to the 16th podcast, I also looked for the 15th and noticed they'd mentioned another change I'm using imc: 1 gp = 100 sp = 100 cp.

Now, I'm really interested in what they'll be doing with lycanthropes - I wonder if they'll be more like the ones in WoD? That was my main-inspiration for their complete overhaul...
