I saw a thread asking about people's favourite class so I thought what people thought of as their worst class for whatever reason. Be it down to what abilities they get to simply not liking them. I personally will never play a paladin but I know so many people who will try to get me to play one as they loved it.
You can choose both or just 1, I'm going off 3.0 as are the group I'm in.

Bards IMO are the all time worst class since 1st edition.

Hiya Grish,

Ya Chuffed you've been on ENWorld all Day today. Nice to see a fellow addict at work. I've been on all day too, but from work...hahahahaha !!!! Now back to the topic....I would have to say that the Bard IMHO is the all time least favorite 3rd edition class, as it does not have alot of offensive or even defensive capability and could not hold it's own in anything but a heated discussion over who gets the ugly one at the pub that night. Their spell choices are pants to say the least and that Facination ability well, you can firmly jam that one in a combat as you, yourself found out when you played a Bard...FFFFFWwwwwweeeerrrrTTTT !!!! with a capital "F".

However as a bit of fun, if anyone out there can suggest any cool ways of playing the Bard effectively I am all ears as they used to be ok in 1st and even 2nd edition, but 3rd editon, well I have to say that they were well and truely @%*!'ed. See ya later Dude :D

You should probably state if you mean 3 or 3.5... as some people may have shifting opinions (then again, some may not have used the 3.5 rules yet like my group is trying to do... hearsay, I know, but I'm enjoying fiddling with the rules).

3e: As for me, I dislike ranger. A lot. I don't like the class abilities, spells, or progressions. I don't even really like the flavor (that's mostly personal preference), and for those that do I generally recommend rogue/fighter. I also don't like the way the Track feat works (again, preference), so m'eh.

3.5e: As for me, I dislike ranger. A lot. I've heard of most of the class changes that are going on, and I still think ranger gets the shaft. In a lot of ways, the class has been made worse (IMO), and in the ways it's been made better, I still wouldn't play it, when compared to my other options.

Monks should not be a core class. They should be consigned to the Oriental Adventures book and stop messing up a clear European fantasy genre game with their incongruity.

I like them all. :D

each of them fill a specific archtype well IMHO. While 3e made it hard to play certain classes with just core rules (bards, rangers), these have been mostly corrected in 3.5e. I now feel each class has a specific niche (barbarians are pure melee force, bards are useful diplomats, clerics are healers, druids are summoners, fighters are versitale warriors, monks are scrimishers, paladins are evil slayers, rangers are wilderness scouts, rogues are skill machines, sorcerers are artillery casters, and wizards are arcane spell masters). Better yet, each of these archtypes can be done without extensive multi-classing.

Well it's been a nice little poll so far and shows that everyone loves the rogue, so far! I'm not surprised the Ranger is joint tops with the Bard. I've played a Bard and wasn't that keen on him, and only looked at a Ranger once and that was enough to tell me not to bother. I'm using 3.0 rules for my basis and not bothering with 3.5 for a while as I've only just recently bought the DMG and MM

I've seen two 3.0 Bards played, and both lasted exactly one session... they need more beef!

-- Nifft, looking forward to 3.5 Bards (and Rangers, and Druids, and... :) )

I don't like the monk. For many settings it just doesn't fit, and as a class it's boring because the predetermined abilities mean that most monks look just the same. It isn't even much good at fighting.

I dunno, I think the druid gets shafted quite well. (both in 3e & 3.5e)

I'm still wondering why the druid gets to use the scimitar.
And why they can't use a flail or a scythe[1] (both which evolved from farm implements)

Though the ranger sucked totally in 3e. (well unless you took just one level and then multiclassed) But they've mostly fixed this in 3.5

[1] I don't have my phb handy. (though the SRD doesn't seem to list it)

I'd have to say Bard because I've yet to see anyone who could play one and do it justice. I've seen people attempt to play a Bard though. ;)
