D&D (2024) Polygon takes shots at WotC & D&D

Polygon: D&D feels like it’s losing its edge. All those indie games need to take advantage!

Also Polygon, same writer: The new D&D edition is a treasure and the franchise’s high water mark!

Also Also Polygon: What’s an indie TTRPG? They have those things? Guess we’ll write another article about D&D.

That opinion article has gotten a lot wrong. One D&D's a name for the playtest phase. The OGL debacle has been resolved with a lot of people happy. Also, nothing after the Monster Manual this year? Really? We get two Forgotten Realms books, a dragon adventure anthology, and a remake of Keep on the Borderlands.

I get it's an opinion piece, but the writer should get some details right to get the point across.

and so should you…

From the article:
“The announcement of new campaigns and adventures has also notably slowed. After the revised Monster Manual (2025) arrives in February, fans may need to wait until the summer for new playable adventures set in the Forgotten Realms. And when those do arrive, they may not add up to a full campaign. Additionally, fans will get an unnamed dragon anthology of unconnected adventures by the summer, and a new starter set by the fall. That’s seemingly it for playable content”

Everything you say is missing is right here
