I've heard of it in passing, but never knew what it was until now - I assumed it was some random meat-based product I'd never encountered. Looks like I was right! :)

On other totally unrelated meat-trivia, who has tried Liver Pudding?

Pork roll, while similar to taylor ham is not the same. Don't ask me exactly how or why, but there's variations in ingredients, texture, and most certainly taste. For those that haven't had, I apologize, for it truly is amazing. Even better is the combination of grilled pork roll and a cheeseburger--aka a "jersey burger". It picks up right where a bacon swiss burger leaves off. For those that haven't had and are curious, or those who have and miss it sorely, it is available on e-bay Best $8 you will ever spend!. A little research on my part determined that pork roll, like alls-fathers eggs (read: greatest easter confection ever) originated in Trenton NJ and has slowly been working its way out.

. only the 3rd finest form of pork available right behind bacon and rib.

For some reason this got me thinking of a funny Simpsons quote.

Lisa has turned vegatarian

Homer: What you won't eat bacon.

Lisa: No!!

Homer: What about Ham?

Lisa: No!!

Homer: Pork Chops?

Lisa: Dad all those come from the same animal.

Homer: Right Lisa, there is some magical animal where all this comes from.

Or something like that.

Never heard of Pork Rolls
