• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

Praise and element or aspect of a game or edition you don't like.

4e: An edition of D&D that didn't cost me a red cent.

Mod Edit: Someone here missed that the "praise, with snarky comments" thread got closed. JRR here won't be posting in this thread again. The next person who uses this as an opportunity to take pot shots can expect to be given a vacation from the boards for a while. ~Umbran

I am indeed!

As I've never played RM (we spent all day making characters once, though), could you explain this one?

Rolemaster .... is not without flaws. But it does have the best critical success and critical fumble tables ever. "You trip over unseen, imaginary, deceased turtle. You are very confused." is from the 'moving fumble' chart.

From the actual attack fumbles I think my favorite was "Worst move seen in ages! You are at -90 to hit from a pulled groin. Opponent stunned for 1d3 rounds laughing."
