Preferred method of printing?

I'm quite new to the electronic book phenomenon (only have a couple of purchases under my belt at this point), but I've already seen enough to know that some folks are putting out some really well developed and interesting stuff. But reading it on the PC feels a little strange at times and I lack a computer at the gaming table (for now).

So I was wondering what (or possibly 'where') you consider the best, and most affordable, method of printing electronic books for regular use and travel. I took my b/w version of Elements of Magic (possibly my most favorite d20 book ever) to Kinkos last night and they printed it up for me. I used the cheapest paper and got it spiral-bound. That only set me back $12. (they wanted $90 for the good paper and full color printing!) How do you guys do it?

I use my Canon S600 printer and print pdfs out in greyscale, then punch holes and place it in a 3" D-ring binder. Ink cartridges for the printer I have are less than 14.00 each and I buy my paper by the case.

Go work for a company that has laser printers in every room, and make sure that your the guy that handles all 'problems' for the big ass Xerox A3 color laserprinter... ;_

If you're not a student with acess to university printers or work somewhere with monster network printer/copiers (mmmmm duplex printing), then I highly recommend investing in a laser printer-- even if you already own an inkjet. I've been using the same toner cartridge for two years now. By comparison inkjet refills are a serious ripoff. They practically give away the printers because they know you'll more than make up for it in ink.

Trust me--a laser printer is worth every penny.

I have to agree with Prest0. I recently purchased a cheap laser printer for $100 (after rebate). I print my PDFs 2-up and duplex, so it ony takes one sheet of paper for every four pages on the PDF. The print may be too small for some people's taste using 2-up, but the laser printer makes it clear and crisp enough that it works fine for me.
