Pricing item that gives item creation feat

A dwarf cleric in my group of players wants to commission dwarven priests in his homeland to create for him a magic forge that grants the user the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat. How much do you think such an item would be in terms of market price?

I'm thinking the price might be around 25,000 gp. Greater rods of metamagic cost 24,500 gp. Ring of evasion is 25,000 gp (even though evasion is a class ability, not a feat, that seems similar). Adding the keen ability to a weapon costs anywhere from 6,000 gp for a +1 keen weapon to 38,000 gp for a weapon with +10 equivalent of powers.

I'd call it a good call, specially it being a forge (fixed location)... that way chars lvl 20 could buy 32 feat items... I agree with the pricing, and with other items I'd make it the same way as items with multiple powers, example: Improved Trip (requires Combat Expertise, and therefore has to be included in the creation) 25k(CE)+25k*1.5(IT)...

But this would go at House Rules... (my comment, not your post)

Wow, you are really lenient. Allowing people to make magic items of these kinds of feats is a HUGE power boost. Now, instead of using one of thei precious feat slots, they jsut spend some coin to get the benegfits of the feat.

I would say it is far more powerful than a metamagic rod, as it gives a far stronger benefit.

IMC it would never be allowed.

In races of stone there are several magic forges that allow you to bypass feats, one that allows you to never stop forging, and one that grants you spells solely for the purpose of crafting items. Have a look (Or ask someone else).

Depends on how much he abuses it. I mean, if he opens the forge to the community and suddenly the whole place is armed to the teeth (like dwarves already aren't), you could have some real bad stuff going on.

On the other hand, if he is having this forge crafter just so he can make 1 or 2 weapons, I'd agree that the ring is much, much better. Just because items like this forge have a tendency to be end up unused after a while, due to a good haul, or a great reward.

I'd price such a forge at 10,000 gold.

*goes away, looks up stuff*

Just checked the Races of Stone. 15,000 was their price. (page 167)

I'd suggest the 10,000 but only allow it to work for items mostly made of metal...
