I was away at a conference last week and my husband let my mother have our 11 year old son overnight to make picking me up at the airport easier. I have a sister that works for Life Lion as a flight nurse and my mother brought my son to the airport where she's stationed for a visit. She gave him the grand tour, even letting him sit in the pilot's seat of the helicopter, helmet and all. He was stoked!

She asked if he wanted to watch the planes coming in from the landing strip and he almost went if not for one thing.... One of her coworkers was playing an online D&D game. She asked him if he was coming to which he replied:

"Nah, I want to watch this instead."

And another generation of D&D players is begun!

LOL! :p

My son is doing similiar stuff where the DnD group is more entertaining than movies on TV. Its awesome to share hobbies with the lil' ones.

Outstanding!

Does he play in your games?

umm... my game tends to be a little on the mature side but we play Hero Quest and Dark Tower. My fondest memories are when he was just a baby and we still played tabletop D&D. He'd roll the dice for me. I guess it's in his blood to know they should be rolled not eaten.
He does, however, take great joy in coming up with bizarre monsters and maps.
