psionic setting in movies, tv shows, anime, novels and other media

I am looking for media that shows an all psionic setting where in the said "universe" that psionic is real, very common and the focus or it's the center of the setting. There would be different organizations be it government, secret societies, cults and other groups looking for people with psi-powers for recruitment, exploitations or extermination. The list I have so far that would fit my criteria are: Akira, Push, The Fury, Scanners film series, The Tomorrow People and Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. Would InFamous fit with this type of setting?

I have looked at wiwki and tv tropes but most of the time they are not updated as often caue I think they do added the newest and most recent released media to their list. Does anyone have any suggestions to add to the list?

Hiero's Journey and The Unforsaken Hiero by Sterling E. Lanier feature a post-apocalyptic world where the good guys (the Abbeys) and the bad guys (the Unclean) both have psionic powers.

If I'm not mistaken, Juliet E. McKenna's Tales of Einarinn revolve around a struggle between traditional magic and what is effectively psionics.

I don't know whether this is the kind of thing you're looking for, but they're probably the only books I know that deal extensively with psionic powers.

Not looking for any fantasy settings cause I am wanting the modern/near future struggles of psionics and the tech. Post-apocalyptic settings is a bit iffy at the moment depending how much is left.

I was going to recomend a bunch of stuff, but they're all far future. (Slan, etc.)

Settings I can think of of the top of my head that include psionics (in varying amounts):

  1. Star Trek
  2. Larry Niven's Known Universe
  3. Star Wars
  4. Lensman
  5. Babylon 5
  6. Dr Who
  7. X-Files
  8. Heroes
  9. No Ordinary Family
  10. Stephen King's Firestarter
  11. Scanners
  12. DC & Marvel Comics' respective universes

The first two/three books or so in Julian May's prequel series ("The Galactic Milieu saga") to her Pliocene Earth saga, would fit what you are looking for. The first book was broken up into two paperbacks Surveillance and Metaconcert, the second/third book "Jack the Bodieless" are the ones you'll want. Past that it starts getting into pretty straight SF, but the first couple are set in contemporary/near future.

Come to think of it Twin Peaks the TV series arguably can fit. Various psychic powers fit just as well as magic for explaining a lot of stuff in there. This is probably true of most "modern" fantasy as well.

The manga/anime series Guyver (ignore the live action movies) is more biological engineering, but the powers of the Zoalords fit. Especially early in the series with Arkenfeld and Gyrot.

For that matter, there were psionics in the Pliocene Saga as well, as I recall.
