Question about a weapon

Today while playing I came across a "War Scythe" in town that was demolished by an orc army. I have looked in about 5 different books but can't find this weapon anywhere. My DM was told by another DM about this weapon and my DM forgot the stats. I don't feel like waiting until next week to find them out or even if this weapon is real. Can anyone tell me the stats and if it's a real weapon please?

Maybe it was supposed to be the "normal" scythe out of the PHB?

Actually, I think it is the normal scythe. The PHB scythe is not a normal farming implement. It states that the weapon has been sharpened and strengthened for use in battle.

Right. And usually the blade of a scythe used for war was straightened so that the whole thing looked more like a glaive... but well. You can't D&D designers expect to know everything.

But I think this one should be exotic as well, since it is simply better than the normal scythe in the PHB. The cost of 300GP is no balancing factor at all!
