Question about submitted creatures.

I suppose this question would be for Boz and Shade mainly, and a few of you others guys (sorry i am kinda new so I wouldn't know quite yet who you all are) Anyways, I know you all submit to Dragon and I think Dungeon, and possibly other sources. I am curious to see if you all have submitted the Yellow, Cloud and Electrum dragons to anybody as of yet. I think some of you have seen me floated around the official forums trying to bust butt on those so you may know what I am getting at lol. I was just curious to see if they were submitted by any of you, and if anybody ever told you if they were going to fly or not, thanks alot.

I do not believe we've queried any of those. From what I hear, the cloud dragon is unlikely to be accepted as WotC considers the storm drake in Draconomicon to be the same creature.

IIRC, the ferrous dragons (appearing in next month's Dragon) was the only completely true dragon query we've sent in thus far.

Thanks Shade, I appreciate it immensely. Yeah I saw the Storm Drake comment elsewhere also, what the heck are they thinking on that? Well at least you guys have it the right way. So you guys were behind the Ferrous, very cool lol. I have to say I admire you guys very much. Seems like they are publishing lots of your material lately huh? Well keep up the good job, later.

i believe we had queried on the Faerunian yellow dragon, but perhaps due to the yellow dragon appearing in Dragon Compendium 1, it was rejected. perhaps a total name change would help...

i'm not positive, but i believe we may have queried on the electrum dragon at some point. not at all sure about that, though.

don't think we've asked about the cloud dragon.

Shade did mention that he did a conversion of the electrum dragon and will upload it one day for review. I think it's the one Faerûnian dragon still unconverted, and it figured prominently in the history of Myth Drannor, IIRC. And yes, in the Converted True Dragons thread there is talk about renaming dragons with identical names (for which there is a precedence with the 2e weredragon renamed into the 3e song dragon), so there is hope for the yellow dragon of... where does it come from? Raurin? Mulhorand? Anauroch?

Krishnath converted it when he was handling the true dragons for future inclusion in the CC. Since it's been awhile, I'm thinking we should give it a fresh look in the True Dragons thread once we finish up the pink dragon.

I can't seem to recall whereabouts in the Realms they placed the yellows, either. And a brief Google search didn't help. Odd.

I'll take a gander at the location for the beast as soon as I did out all my old material lol, I'll edit it to this post after I find it. Actually for the most part most of the information for the beast is fairly obscure, considering 3rd edition came out fairly soon after the 2e draconomicon for the realms, and well, you guys know what happened to most of the information from that point. lol, I'm off to search!

edit: anyways gentlemen, the desert was Anauroch, but according any monstrous desert will work. Anauroch was the location where the first specimen of Yellow was found though. :D

Well hells bells, I guess I am not going to submit anythings now that there will be no more dragon/dungeon mag, what the hell is up with that lol. While we are here, any of you guys think about this yet in terms of where you would submit future submissions. Man that sucks though about the magazines, I just don't know what to say about that......... :]

With the sad news Pazio will cease publication of Dragon and Dungeon with their September issues what happens with submitted creatures?

I suppose they may be taken up by Pazio for their Pathfinder books or some such.

At the very least, hopefully the rights will revert to the author(s) and allow the creatures to be posted in the Creature Catalog.

Regards
Mortis
