Question on the level 5 daily for an elf ranger

Since I'm still getting used to 4E and the rules, I wanted to ask on here before saying "yes" or "no" on this.

But, the party's elf ranger has the Hunter's Aim feat that allows him to ignore cover or concealment.

For his level 5 daily, he is considering taking Flying Steel, which will allow him to make an additional basic attack against the target if the target does not end its turn in cover. Would the Hunter's Aim feat mean the elf ranger could continue to ignore cover (assuming the target has it against everybody else) and get the extra basic attack per Flying Steel?

Thanks for your input.

Not actually going to look those up, but if they say what you say they do, no. Ignoring Cover doesn't mean the target doesn't have Cover, just that for the purposes attacking it is irrelevant to you.

Hunter's aim simply says that you don't take the attack penalty for cover or concealment.

It doesn't allow you to act as though they don't have cover or concealment in any other way.

So, no, the combo with the daily doesn't work.
