The Matrix Reloaded is easily the movie I enjoyed the most, after that is just a big group of movies in no particular order, all of which have already been mentioned. Except Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns), a documentary on They Might Be Giants, if you're a fan of the band check it out, if you're not check it out anyway.

1. ROTK
2. X2
3. Pirates of the Caribbean
4. Sinbad
5. Bulletproof Monk
6. Open Range
7. Daredevil
8. 28 Days Later
9. Kill Bill Vol 1
10. Once Upon a Time in Mexico

I don't go to see many movies, so only having to pick 10 was not as hard as it might otherwise have been. I liked the Matrix movies well enough, but they didn't make the top 10. The Missing was close, but still not as good as Bandaras was. Tomb Raider and Jeepers Creepers 2 were both cool, but didn't make the top 10. 28 Days did, because it was just too damn enjoyable. Sinbad would, in a poorer year, be #2 at least.

Now, I still have cool stuff to watch. Haven't seen Cold Mountain or Master and Commander or Peter Pan yet.

1. Two Towers Extended Edition
- Far superior to the theatrical release (which suffered mainly from my overfamiliarty with the text)
2a (tie). Master & Commander: the Far Side of the World
- Great, great film, which was unafraid to take risks (in today's Hollywood).
2b (tie). Gods and Generals
- One of the finest war movies I've ever seen. Robert Duvall was amazing.
4. Holes
- Dragged to this by my nephews...ended up loving it. They don't make 'em like this any more.
5. Return of the King
- The EE DVD will no doubt rank higher
6. Open Range
- I'm a sucker for a good western (since they are so rare)
7. Finding Nemo
- Fun.
8. X2: X-Men United
- I'm voting for ths on the strength of the Magneto escape scene and the raid on the mansion. Everything else was on autopilot.
9. Freddy vs. Jason
- Guily pleasure.
10. Kill Bill Volume 1
- Note that it is possible to understand Tarantino's motivation and the source material---yet still think this was really kind of dopey. Whore that I am, I'll still be there opening night for Volume 2.

Honorable Mention: Underworld
- My schadenfreude at watching White Wolf's spurious plagiarism charges evaporate before my eyes. Plus, Kate Beckinsdale was uber hot.

edit: forgot about Gods & Generals!

Yep, that it. sure Return of the King should be 10/10 but I had one issue, the dealing with the Shire and while it did not hurt the movie one bit, I thought it should have been important enough to be in.

Daredevil is on folks' lists? I saw that on a plane, and other than a few funny scenes (mustard, talky lady on airplane, etc.), I thought it was incredibly lame.

Matrix Reloaded was decent, if you watched it as action porn. "Quit talking!" I wanted to yell at the screen whenever Keanu or someone started blithering on about the incoherent, idiotic metaphysic of their world. "Blow some more stuff up! You know what I'm here for, baby!"

I get suprised when people try to make the Matrix series out to be anything else but super-action flicks. Anime style action come to life is what they were aiming for and what they got.

It is on my list because it was a movie I saw and felt I should rank best to worse. If a movie gets me to buy a ticket, I will rank it and compare it to other movies I have seen for the year. DD got me in and at the time, I thought it was a fair movie but now looking back at it I would not have missed anything if I had not seen it.

Great list Dark Jezter! You forgot one other Best...

Best Home Security System: Having a character named Wolverine watching the kids when bad men come knocking (X2). :D

I love that scene in the movie.
