rapid shot + TWF = ?

Assuming you had a one-handed ranged weapon in each hand, can you use rapid shot along with TWF to basically give you a bonus attack but -2 to all attacks that round? So, at 16 BAB and with greater TWF, would you have 8 attacks: highest, highest, -5, -5, -10, -10, -15 - but all with -2? Or would these two feats not work together?

If they were throwing weapons and you had Quick Draw, yes, you could do this. Or you could have 2 hand crossbows, for the John Woo feel.

You can't reload a hand crossbow one-handed, so you only get two shots that way - though you could then drop the crossbows and quickdraw throwing weapons for the subsequent attacks.

last night i read the wotc discussion on this. they have it all laid out in the rules discussion part under 2 handed fighting.

from pt2:
Ranged Fighting with Two Weapons

Attacks with two thrown weapons work just as noted for melee weapons, except that you use your Dexterity modifier to resolve ranged attacks. You still use your Strength modifier for damage rolls (but only half your Strength bonus for damage rolls with your off-hand weapon).

One cool combo is if you have Throwing Axes, and you have TWF & Rapid Shot. You can get 3 attacks (2 melee, 1 ranged). Hack at an opponent (primary attack), Hack at an opponent (off-hand attack), throw weapon at an opponent (rapid shot). ---> Fun if you have a Returning weapon :)

And if you are a Monk with Flurry of Blows (class ability), TWF, and Rapid Shot, you can toss a bunch of Shuriken each round (that's 4 attacks right there, at -6 to hit, heh). FoB can only be used with unarmed strikes or special monk weapons (which Shuriken are).
