I remember reading the books (at least the first 1 or 2) many years ago and really enjoyed them. Since then I have forgotten just about everything about them which worked out just fine for me. :)

I voted a 10 for the initial viewing. I wanted to see it again and then watch a sequel or two right after. Can't say that about many movies...

This is a slam-dunk purchase on DVD for me. I hope we get an exteneded cut but I'm not holding my breath. I'm also hoping the theatrical release and DVD do huge sales so Disney gets the rest of the books made into movies.

Second that. I watched it earlier with my youngest niece and we both loved it. It was a fantastic movie. I only had a couple of problems with it, but they're minor quibbles. Everything else about it was perfect. Can't wait for the rest of the movies.

I gave it a 3.

It sucked. The story, the characterization (which ended with the appearance of the Witch), the effects, they all sucked. Wiping the blood off his sword but not showing it? Having a big battle with no blood or anything? This was silly as a PG film. And with all the comparissons to LotR, Narnia couldn't stand up to it at all.

This reminded me of a B-rated Fantasy movie from the 80s or something, actually. At points, it was so bad it was funny. Wow.

I gave the movie a 9. It hit most of the important parts of the book. The effects and acting both worked very well. I would have enjoyed more Aslan, but wasn't majorly disappointed.

Cassander it was a PG movie, in the US at least. Being based on a children's book, the director chose the very strange idea of not making it bloody.

You do know that it was a children's movie, and based on a children's book, right? Have you ever read the books?

I gave it a 9. It wasn't absolutely perfect - small bits of it could have been better. But as an adaptation of a well loved children's book, it played my heartstrings like a maestro.
