Interesting. I'm hoping that I enjoy it on a second viewing (which probably won't be until the DVD :( ).

I'd have to say that if you take Star Wars out (I'm too much of a fanboy) Narnia ties with Mr. & Mrs. Smith for my favorites of the year. The latter held up very well upon a second viewing, in fact I may have liked it more because I got to pay more attention to the banter the second time around.

Any comments for the second viewing of Narnia? Things you looked for, didn't catch the first time, etc?

Quite a few actually. But I'll talk about them in the spoiler thread. And tomorrow, because I'm tired. If I remember too. Someone PM me or something to remind me.

Sounds good. I'll post about it if I don't see anything for a few days.

I'm still surprised that I liked it that much and really hope that it stands up to repeat viewings well. That's really the true test of a good flick for me.

You do know that it was a children's movie, and based on a children's book, right? Have you ever read the books?
I have. I don't care for them, but I don't care for the Potter books either and I still enjoy those movies. Narnia, on the other hand, was not improved by the translation. Gave it a 3.

Basically. Upon a second viewing, I've decided this is indeed my favorite film of the year so far. With only King Kong left to dethrone it, it will probably stay my favorite new film until July when Pirates 2 hits.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it doesn't beat out Serenity or Batman Begins (and probably ties Hitchhiker's Guide) for me.

Is there a trailer out for this yet (I haven't looked)? Sam Jackson rules.
Nope. No trailers yet, but there are a few screenshots floating around the net if you look.

I hope Snakes on a Plane does well so we can get a sequel, like maybe Grizzlies on a Tour Bus or Spiders on a Train. ;)

Personally, I'm waiting with baited breath for Tyrannosaurus on a Tricycle.

Vultures on Stilts, people. Vultures on Stilts

Demiurge out.

PS: On topic, I gave Narnia an 8, but I'm thinking I might need to change that to a 9. Very good movie.

I gave it a 7, but I think I may have been too harsh.

My main criticism is that I didn't feel the actions of the chidren had enough of an impact on the final outcome - but in retrospect that's probably unfair because the plot had to remain true to the book.

I loved the white witch, but couldn't remember what I'd seen the actress in before. Fortunately, due to the magic of the internet, I found out she played Gabriel in Constantine (but you guys probably already knew that).
