Well, after obtaining a name for the chatrooms (in much the same way you have obtained your name for the boards) many set about writing a description for their character using the following commands (each starting with a forward slash):
/describe edit
/first paragraph's text here
/a middle paragraph's text here
/another middle paragraph's text here
/last paragraph's text here
/.
Once the 'describe edit' mod is opened, it is only closed once a user types in a forward slash followed by a period. I would write your description in a text file and copy one paragaph in at a time for each command.
Don't paste actual returns from the text file, just enter each paragraph as one long line after the forward slash and hit return using your keyboard.
After that, yourself and others can type:
/look at said_character
...and see the description for said_character.
If it doesn't turn out right, you can keep repeating this process until it does. After you are done, then you can learn the other commands, which are much easier to understand.
Like in the related novels, the mechanics working behind the scenes are hidden from sight although they can still provide a strong guideline when you are roleplaying, giving you a sense of character capability.
