Readied charge?

The count on which your turn now occurs in the initiative order is the count that just went past while you took your readied action.

Your turn this round was on count 15 this round. Your turn next round (your next turn) is on count 7 next round. The readied action took place on count 7 this round... between your turn, and your next turn.

And then I still my next turn, right? Because the readied action occurs BEFORE my next turn, I haven't had my next turn yet, and nothing in your reading causes me to lose what was my next turn as I take my action before my turn.

Your next turn would have been next round on count 15. By taking your readied action, your next turn has changed to next round on count 7.

You haven't lost your next turn; rather, it's been delayed by a few counts by the reset of your initiative to a different count.

Odd sidenote: it appears that one can ready a bullrush. If the target of the bullrush was next to you, it seems that you could enter their square (5' step allowed by a readied action) and then concievably push them 30' (if you beat their str check by 30) during your readied action.

The thing of it is, a charge is supposed to take a lot of time. You're supposed to be running full tilt into someone. Readied attacks are supposed to be lightning quick reactions to things happening on the field of battle. Running 30' and hitting someone seems like it should take a lot longer than the split second you have when a mage pops into visibility while firing off a fireball.

Well, let's say the same mage next round casts a quickened magic missile.

If I have a readied action triggered by "If he casts a spell", then I can get off my readied Lightning Bolt (a standard action spell) before he finishes casting his quickened spell.

"Seems like it should take longer than a split second" doesn't really come into it where readied actions are concerned.

You haven't had ypur turn yet, you perform your action, and your initiative count becomes 7. It doesn't become 7 and not your turn, that I can see.

You've already had your turn this round. Your next turn isn't until next round.

Your initiative count becomes the count on which you just acted; that count for this round has already happened. The next time that count comes up is a whole round away, and that's your next turn.

"Your initiative result becomes the count on which you took the readied action."

Took, past tense. The count has already been and gone.

Did you declare an action on your turn? Like Ready?

Then you already had your turn, the action just hasn't been resolved yet.

On your turn where you readied the action you could have still taken a 5 ft step so you could have done something (even if it is a non-action).

1. You ready an action
2. Something occurs to trigger the action
3. The acton is triggered... it is still not your turn
4. your initiative is set to the current initiative
5. the current intiative, which you have not yet acted in, occurs

You've already acted in this round.

You've even already acted on the current initiative count. You haven't had a turn on the current initative count, but you've had a turn in the current round.

"If the triggered action is part of another character’s activities, you interrupt the other character. Assuming he is still capable of doing so, he continues his actions once you complete your readied action. Your initiative result changes. For the rest of the encounter, your initiative result is the count on which you took the readied action, and you act immediately ahead of the character whose action triggered your readied action."

Notice - after your readied action, the character you interrupted continues; for the rest of the encounter, you act before he does.

Your turn comes before his for the rest of the encounter... and his turn is already happening. So your next turn doesn't come around until just before his next turn.

You can't ready an action until your turn in the initiative - so you have "acted". "Ready" is not a free action that can be taken anytime (like talking), it can only be taken on your turn in the initiative order (IAW RAW).
