Real world myths and legends: Who's Epic Level?

I rationalize the Mouser at being around 21st-22nd level, while Fafhrd is around 19th-20th. The Mouser I envision as having lots of rogue levels (naturally), and at least a few monk levels (which would account for how he could be buried alive and not only live but move). This is assuming a period from later in their lives, in the stories Leiber wrote near the end of his life.

Now for a tricky one- is Elric Epic? now we have to leave Stormbringer out to an extent, since a toddler could be Epic wielding that beast. He did seem to have some pretty powerful magics at is disposal.

Buzzard

Elric falls into the 21+ lvl Epic scope by virtue of his multi-classing. While I wouldn't go as far as the original Dieties and Demigods to give him a level in pretty much every class, I would say he is a 10+ lvl fighter/17+ lvl wizard. Sure, Stormbringer fought alot of his battles for him in a sense, but he did demonstrate excellent battle prowess without the black blade.

One way to interpret the Actorius is that it is a replacement for a wizard's need for spellbooks, as in it holds the key to Melnibonean's vast wealth of arcane lore. It would, after all, fall into the range of a major artifact in D&D terms.

Feanor, Maedhros, Maglor, maybe others of the seven sons
Ingwe of the Vanyar
Elwe/Thingol Greycloak
Fingolfin, Turgon, Fingon
Hurin, Turin Turambar (killed Glaurung)
Huor, Tuor, Earendil (killed Ancalagon)
Elrond
Beren, Luthien (she sang Morgoth to sleep!), etc.
Glorfindel (killed a balrog)
Ecthelion (killed Gothmog)
Beleg Cuthalion
Cirdan

Add Luthien. She could cast an spell that put to sleep not only Melkor but the entire Angband fortress as well. If that´s not epic...

Achiles = Barbarian. Come on, guys, the entire Illiad is *defined* by the word "Rage." :)

Oh, and don't forget the likes of Perseus, or Jason, or the rest of the Argonauts.

Well, assuming that you'd not be stating him for Toon...(6 or 7 in Brawn, 9 in Speed, 10 or so in Smarts, 11 in Chutzpah, with Cosmic Shift and Disguise of around 9, and temporary Shticks up the wazoo...)

A high level Rogue/Bard/Sorcerer. Perhaps 10 in each...

Yes, Bugs Bunny could very well be an epic-level awakened rabbit. I mean, he can stick his finger into the barrel of the shotgun and cause it to backfire, dig holes in seconds, dodge bullets, outwit humans, and survive multiple blast of dynamite. That's pretty cool! But it's rather hard to give him classes...

How about Santa Claus? He has to have divination and scrying spells out the wazoo; he knows whether you are naughty or nice. And he must have some sort of permanent Time Stop power to deliver all the toys in one nlight. Plus he must have a hundred levels of expert to make all those toys for all the good little girls and boyd- especially with the new demands of high-tech electronic Playstation/Ninentdo/X-box gizmos. And he must have lots of levels of rogue to sneak into everybody's house without their knowing. I bet it takes a lot of ranks in the Escape Artist skill to get down those chimneys as big as Santa is.
And what about the Grim Reaper? Such a high level lich he is an anthropomorphic representation of a natural force. Plus all the exp he must get for slaying all the people.
And what about the Silver Horde from DiscWorld? The nearly took on a whole army of highly-trained samuarai all by themselves, as old men, none the less. One was even in a wheel chair.

Ah! So people liked my Bugs Bunny suggestion.

And to think, I thought people would behead me.

But if you think about it all of the looney toons gang were indestructible.

They all deserve Epic Level status.
