Real world myths and legends: Who's Epic Level?

OK, so much for epic heros, what about epic villains?

Dracula: Barbarian/Fighter, epic vampire
Darth Vader: Epic Psion/Psychic Warrior with cyborg template and Sith prestige class
Lex Luthor: He is a problem, maybe Expert/ Courtier from L5R and Mastermind prestige class from L5R
Joker: Expert/ Barbarian(He does rage)/ Assassin and an insainity based prestige class or template

EPIC:

The Green Man (immune to decapitation)

Enkidu (matched Gilgamesh blow-fer-blow)

Gozer the Carpathian (serious undead control and shapechanging)

NOT EPIC:

Qui Chang Kane (never once saw him Gate)

William Wallace (no actual pyrotechnic farting abilities)

Blackbeard (damn close though)

Who is Gozer the Carpathian?

If it's a Ghostbusters reference, there are:

Gozer the Gozerian, and
Vigo the Carpathian.

If it's something else, and there is a real Gozer the Carpathian, I apologize now for making an ass of myself! :)

The Green Man (immune to decapitation)

I think you mean The Green Knight. But yeah, he's epic. He's so epic that he's friggin' game busting! I have yet to find a rule in 3E D&D that allows a character to survive decapitation (with the exception of a Blood ability from Birthright in 2E). :D

I also think he was a Paladin. After all, he was testing Gawain to sure how brave he was. So he was probably a Paladin and wanted to see if Gawain measured up to his own standards.

Epic:
Conan
Batman
Deadpool
Gilgamesh
Odysseus
Achilles
Jason
Robin Hood
Richard the Lionheart
Beowolf
Moses
Gary Gygax
Saladin
Buffy
Lady & the Ten Who Were Taken
Tempus- from thieves' world
Orion from Ben Bova's novels
Goblin and One Eye- okay not epic heroes but epic pains in the butt.
Black Sabbath
The Beatles
Elvis

I think thats enough for now:D

Non-Epic: Jareth, the Goblin King.

My first impulse was Epic all the way, but through experimentation I've discovered that everything he does can be adquately simulated by a 16th-level half-elven bard with the shadow creature (FRCS) template and Perform ranks out the wazoo, provided you make a few basic assumptions about the planar properties of the Labyrinth.

Just goes to show. ;)

(And sure, he's not mythological per se, but if we can include Bugs Bunny and Elvis... )

- Sir Bob.

P.S. Nih!

Oh, hell, if you add Discworld into the mix, then of course Cohen the Barbarian counts.

20thlvl Barbarian/20th lvl Fighter, with perhaps 10 epic levels to the side...

From Marvel Comics.

Doctor Strange
Professor X
Jean Grey's Phoenix persona where she wanted to destroy everything.

All of the Incarnations in Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series.

Atlas

Sgt. York not quite epic but close.
