70's, at least in the comic. He's old, wrinkled and feeble. :D

He's definitely not feeble in the movie!

I liked the movie. It was a cheesy, pulpy comic book, action flick that entertained me throughout it's showing. Can't complain about that.

Yeah the Venice scene was illogical and what not, but it's meant to be overtop, comic book adventure.

My wife actually enjoyed the movie - so that's got to mean something! (She actually chose to go see it.)

Having read the comics they did them no justice. I don't mind that they changed the story but they should have kept the characters and there background, that was the best part of the comic and the worst part of the movie. Anyways it was fun but not the best movie I have seen this summer.

I hated Hulk so bad that I honestly debated more than once walking out of the theater, only being stopped by the fact I would have thrown away 7 bucks.

Hurray! I have allies!

I hated The Hulk, and liked LXG.

And I've actually read the original series. It's fun, but it's no great shakes...

Personally, I have a new addition to my favorite movies list. There was not a single part of that movie I did not like. And, about the end, am I the only one who senses a sequel? One of the best parts of that movie for me was that they didn't focus completely on Quartermain's story. They added Dorian Gray's "inner demons," how Mina became a vampire, Jekyll's secret crush on Mina and how Hyde tried to use that to his advantage, and so on and so forth.

I also noticed how the waters in venice were not supposed to be that deep or that clean. And I was confused at first at why Mina could walk in broad daylight. I also liked how they added a bit of humor to suit some of the characters. For instance, did you ever hear Nemo making a joke? It's just not in his character. The only funny thing that I remember him saying was that he had been too charitable when he said he wasn't a pirate. Dorian, however, came across as a very quick witted person, and didn't disappoint. (ex. "who are you?" "I'm complicated.") The invisible man also had his moments of comedic relief.

Most of the graphics to me were just fine, although, who's looking at graphics when Dorian is on screen.;) All in all I give it an 8 out of 10. Even my mom enjoyed it, I just had to keep checking her pulse whenever she saw Sean Connery.

This film didn't seem as good from what I heard from other people, from watching this film they made one mistake in the film for example the scene were Mina who is Vampire had shocked me when she was out side of Nemo ship in the Day light!

From what I understand Mark Chance mention that she can stay in the Day light, but doing so limited his supernatural powers, but yet, she can do Children of the Night bats festing on men Guarding a post which was her supernatural power counting 2 times one in the night time the other in the day time.Which would mean they had broken "The Laws of Fiction".

Some of these characters are mostly evil like Dorian Gray's, from what I heard he is Insain killer, who seem to think he was immortal, when it was too late for him to live longer then he did in the movie, having never read the comics, I would of understand the whole thing but as you know a film doesn't always tell the whole story to a book or a Comic. The Film had its moments finding out that the main villain in the story was a Sherlock Homes character, (which I will not say who it is).

Personally, I feel the film would had done better, but then again I seen worser films then this one, also I have to say to Gary Gygax who had recommend this movie, I'm sorry to tell you this Gary the film is not good, I'm not going to say its crap its not a good movie.

One major point.

The world of the LXG is not our world. In the comic they are building a bridge across the English Channel. The world of the comic and the movie is a world of steam punk super science.

That being said I can accept hat Venice is not accurate in the movie.

BTW, the best line in the movie has to come from the Invisible Man.

... I cannot feel any of my extremities and I mean ANY of them.

You know its a half-assed production when the main character's name is Quatermain and everyone calls him QuaRtermain. Its even written that way on his son's tombstone!

People, people! I'm starting to think no one has read Dracula! :D

Mina is perfectly capable of walking about in daylight, as was Dracula himself. Vampires in that story were simply weakened in direct sunlight, not fried to a crisp.

About Chain Lightning's #6

Mina mentions after she gets back up that he had broken her heart one time, but missed the second time or similar. I take this to mean Dorian Grey *had* aimed for her heart, but was just off target while presuming her dead.
