Revised Monk Available in Compendium

I see that they downgraded the needlefang drake swarm's damage...also, you can now take Eldritch Strike in place of Eldritch Blast.

The two things that immediately stand out as a fan of the Avenger are the Bloodclaw nerf and Armor of Faith nerf. Avengers had their weakness (Fort), and AC was supposed to be a strong-suit. And suffering damage, even if it amounted to a small amount, is still using up a resource that Avengers have precious little of (not in hit point totals but in healing surges).

The bloodclaw nerf also affects barbarians so I'm not sure it was such a bad thing, but still, it's turned what was a decent weapon into a pointless weapon. Once per encounter just isn't a big enough incentive to use it at all now.

EDIT: OMG, AND they've nerfed Divine Guidance and made it Divine Fate. Doesn't work for attack rolls anymore, only saves and skill checks.

These kinds of sweeping changes are BS.

EDIT 2: Wait, as if those multiple nerfs weren't enough, they've also gotten rid of Abjure Undead from the Avenger's list of abilities.

Not. Happy. Jan.
That has to be a Compendium mistake (the loss of Abjure Undead and Divine Guidance)--it's not mentioned in the update PDF or the Char Builder. I don't really care about losing the possibility for Leather, but I would be seriously pissed if the Channel Divinity powers, of all things, were nerfed.

I think there's an error in the errata. The updated Double Scimitar and Zulaat have their entries confused as the Double Scimitar's secondary half is considered an axe, which I think is supposed to be the Zulaat.

I thought that was a result of table copy-pasting; I think they're both supposed to be HB all around.

Nothing about that in the PDF.

I think it's an error.

And personally, I feel kind of vindicated with my banned item list. :)

Regarding Abjure Undead.... I was just looking through Channel Divinity Powers for my Invoker on the CB, and Abjure Undead was definitely there, listed as an Avenger ability...

This was after the update...make of it what you will.

I'm a little disappointed by the Storm Pillar nerf. Sure, if you've got a Slide 4 power and hit the same guy 4 times using a single attack, yeah, kind of lame.

At the same time, that seems like it's kind of the point of having so many push/pull/slide techniques -- to force your enemies into locations that they really don't want to be in. As long as you leave it to once per character's turn, I don't see a problem. If the Rogue, Fighter, and Barbarian all want to wail on a bad guy and bounce him around next to the pillar, well... he should be roughed up that much more.
