As the eladrin falls a dreamy smile spreads across Haruka's face. "That's another one for us, for anyone keeping track. Maybe this wasn't so great a plan," she calmly states in the voice of the stern woman. Her hand clenches into a fist and then opens, revealing another crimson ember, which she lazily whips at the harpy. Like the first, this one goes wide. Haruka yelps as her fingers singe, the look of euphoria replaced with that of concentration.

[sblock=Actions]Free: Gain 6 temp hp when Sword 20 dies.
Standard: Fiery Bolt against the harpy. Another 6. Ugh. Take 3 damage to not lose the power. I do like how Sacrifice to Caiphon and my Pact Boon are interacting though. Look how many times I get to miss with my encounter powers! Three so far, and we still have to get started on the dragon and the panther.

Save vs daze. This roll contains a 6, but there's a "1" in front of it, so that's better. So no longer dazed. Just in time to get blinded, I'm sure.

Do we need to start a new thread?[/sblock]

Rhole’s steady beat takes over both Haruka and the eladrin that oppose them, clouding their judgment. The two join hands and stepdance merrily around Rhole, before coming to their senses.

The gnome finally picks himself up, after having spent essentially the entire fight lying on his back. With a fluid change of tune the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper makes an obvious parody of the harpy’s song, though Rhole misses a critical note at a critical moment.

Fed up with Rhole’s inefficiency, Rock jumps out of its master’s hair to take matters into its own tiny hands.

Ikni, her light-sensitive eyes blinded by the dragon's eruption, smiles a little, remembering dozens of hours of blindfolded training with her master, many miles beneath the surface. Bizarrely, the darkness calms her, and she breathes deeply for a moment, and, holding her master's face clearly in her minds eye, whirls her sword through a whistling arc directly toward the eladrin's throat, the arterial spray lands all over Rhole as the enemy falls to the ground.

Derien cannot see, but that's fine. He can still hear the rushing of the river, the gasping of the panther, the horror-woman's worried keening. He can still feel the dragon's hot breath in his face, the eddies of air as it beats its wings. He can still taste...his own blood, mostly. But it's something.

Eyes are redundant anyway.

Derien moves, quick and careful. Away from the dragon, away from the panther, toward the laughing river. If I can contain the dragon, and sustain everyone for just a little while...

Ironheart roars in pain as his bark begins to catch fire. He throws himself to the earth and rolls over and over, beating at the flames with his upper branches and shrieking. When he comes to his feet again, the sly glow in his eyes has vanished to be replaced by burning red of terror and agony.

Ironheart bellows a wordless roar and sways back and forth, lashing its burnt branches about as if tossed by a storm. A few ivy-like tendrils whip across the dragon's snout and bury themselves in the cracks between its scales. But Ironheart pays no attention to the great creature. Ripping itself free, it turns its back on the dragon and charges back across the battlefield towards its tormentor, leaping over the river once again, bellowing incoherantly and brandishing its bloody axe. The head of the weapon completes the earlier assault, removing the female's head from her body, her hands still clutching the bow tightly.

The harpy begins singing another beautiful melody that reaches into your heart's and draws you towards the sounds, Ikni and Derien can't see the singer, but it grabs hold nonetheless.

YouTube - Lord of The Rings - May it be

The dragon moves closer after the harpy has completed her task and unleashes another blast of radiant energy, leaving you all unable to see.

Ikni feels a terrible pain as something slams into her and knocks her to the ground. A set of teeth clamp over her forearm as she falls.

*Bow & sword die this turn* Note that the death of swordsman eliminates the 19-20 crit range for the fey (incl. you)

Harpy moves and uses alluring song - vs will (Ikni, derien, rhole, haruka) (1d20 9=25, 1d20 9=25, 1d20 9=10, 1d20 9=21) man Rhole you are resisting her music like crazy... everyone but Rhole is affected, again pulled around and immobilized (save ends)

Dragon - flies to current location then unleashes a Prismatic breath - vs will (ikni, derien, rhole, Haruka); radiant damage (1d20 9=17, 1d20 9=25, 1d20 9=29, 1d20 9=27, 2d6-2=2) well it hits all of you, but only for 2 damage (thanks for that jerk Derien, but crits Rhole for 10 Oh...forgot -2 from the mark, but it doesn't change anything.

panther charges Ikni-vs ac; dmg (1d20 10=24, 2d6 4=15, 1d20 10=23, 2d6 4=13, 1d20 10=12, 2d6 4=12, 1d20 10=24, 2d6 4=6) screwed up and still had 4 in the roller, anyways, hits AC 24 for 15 damage...1d20=12 not dazed finally

Those in the water, please make an Athletics DC 18 roll on your turn, else you are pushed 3 squares to the west.

Ironheart doesn't even pause as the bowman goes down in a spray of gore. It spins around and leaps over the river yet again, charging blindly at the biggest target. Its blood-drenched axe sweeps around in a massive arc, but in its blind fury it lashes out too quickly and misses. Writhing tendrils spring from the ground at his every step, and when he halts they begin to entangle the dragon's claws.

I planned to attack the Panther so I could get adjacent to both and use Nature's Fury to mark both of them. But after I rolled it I realized that I was better off staying behind the dragon, so it can't include me in blast attacks at the same time as the rest of you (giving me a better chance to trigger my Warden's Fury). So I changed to attack the Dragon. Is that ok?

Move: to P9, jumping the river with Athletics (1d20+10=12). Hm, that's pretty much the lowest I can roll and I still moved 2 squares - really no point in rolling that anymore.
Standard: charge to R12, and attack the dragon with Warden's Lunge: Warden's Lunge on Panther (attack: +1 charging, +2 Fearsome Ram, +1 Thicket Defense) (1d20+9+1+2+1=14, 1d10+10=15) That doesn't include the +2 for flanking, so I hit hit AC 17 for 15. Doubt that hits.
Free: Mark the Dragon with Nature's Wrath.

Derien's starting to get the hang of all this dazzle, he thinks. "Don't rub your eyes, just blink really hard!" Unfortunately, that's terrible advice.

[sblock=Actions]Note: I delay these actions until after Rhole has gone, so that he has a chance to wake me up to sustain Astral Condemnation if I drop on the monsters' turns.

Standard: Apply First Aid to Haruka so she can make a saving throw, fails.
Minor: Sustain Astral Condemnation (24 damage prevented so far).

[sblock=Positioning and Planning]I don't think the dragon can end its movement where it currently is, since Rock is in S14. Putting it one square left should not change any actions though, and allow Rock to be included in the breath weapon.

While I still think we ought to gun for the harpy, I'm planning to Word Ikni left and drop Stirring Shout on the dragon (since I'm not hitting anyone while blind). She and Ironheart can hopefully tie it up with support from that healing, while the rest of us go for Big Bird. What do you think?

By the way, here are some overdue Arcana checks (if applicable) to recall lore about the dragon and panther: 33 and 29, respectively.[/sblock]

vs will (familar_ (1d20 7=15) misses familiar. Dragon is currently 1 square left of current position, Rock is in S14.

Dragon - Wind Dragon, Controller (Leader), Large animate - Aura of Mist An ally who begins his turn within 5 squares of the wind dragon gains invisibility until the end of his turn. No resist/vulnerability. Can breath a blinding spray (like you've seen) & a dazing roar.

Panther - Fey Panther Medium fey beast Skirmisher, can Fey step 1/fight, when it charges - extra damage and knocks prone. No resist/vulnerability.[/sblock]

Haruka closes her eyes as the wave of light washes over her. If you give me light, I'll give you darkness. Every light casts a shadow. She shivers as the shadowy tendrils unwrap themselves from around her limbs and slither out towards the harpy.

She then frowns as she hears the snarl of the panther. Another one. Its time will come.

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Vampiric Embrace against the harpy. Hit Will 17 for 13 necrotic damage and 7 untyped damage. Yes, that's including the -5 for blindness. On a hit, I gain 8 temp hp.
Minor: Curse the panther.

Still blind, not immobile. Don't think that I won't be staggering around blindly in an attempt to gain concealment next turn.

Stat block assumes I hit. If I didn't, then I'm at 29/40 hp (no temps) and the power isn't used. I'm pretty confident about this one, though.[/sblock]
