D&D 5E Rogue and Archer Character Sheets

Hmm...

Breastplate is 8 times as expensive as scale mail, and all you get for that is a 25 lb reduction in weight. (barring any special rules in the armor descriptions themselves).

Also, no armor has a base AC 15.

Still, I like it. No dragon/mithral armors on the table. Some of the redundant armors (light shields and padded armor) is gone as well.

You need the extra carrying capacity so you can carry all of the gold you're obviously rolling in.

My guess is that scale mail grants disadvantage to Stealth checks, as in the playtest, while a breastplate doesn't. Basically, the breastplate has taken the place of studded dragon leather, just as the chain shirt has taken the place of studded leather (which has been moved to light).

Does it mention anywhere that the halfling is actually Small sized? I see the fluff that they are 3 feet tall, but I don't see anything about a size category.

I'm sure it is Small, but it would be useful to actually reference that on the sheet for new players so they can use Halfling Nimbleness without having pre-knowledge of size categories.

Yeah, it's a good alignment description.

Actually, a thing that I've liked about all of these character sheets is that their alignment descriptions are all from the point of view of the character. I really like that as an approach - if the character generation rules in Basic provide some advice on doing it that way, I will be incredibly happy.

Yeah, I liked that too. It provides examples of how alignment can be interpreted a bit differently for different characters based on their personality and background, and yet maintains a common thread that fits within the overall descriptions of the alignments.

Everyone take a deep breath.

It's more likely plate armor just isn't in the Starter Set than it is that WotC removed plate armor from the game.

Breathe.

It's hard to ragequit if you aren't breathing.

Thaumaturge.

Yep. The really good news is that Basic D&D includes the full PHB equipment chapter, and we'll have the opportunity to download it on Thursday before most of us even get our grubby little hands on a Starter Set. I'm refraining from judging the armor chart until I see the whole thing on Thursday.

sheet

I will say that I like the Starter character sheet a LOT more than the one that came with the playtest. The playtest sheet was real complicated-looking and busy, whereas the Starter sheet is simple and clean.
Looking forward to Basic.

It will probably be in the basic chargen. I know weapons reference size for what small creatures can use.

On one hand you could say it is assumed, but I think many newcomers would assume dwarves are small too.
