Savage Worlds Rifts [IC]

Just off the road the heroes find a place to camp. They figure they still have about six or seven hours of travel before they hit Fort Refuge and it is getting dark fast. After setting up camp and getting people feed and a place to bed down for the night the tired heroes gather to set a watch...

GM: If you want to set a Watch this night, those who are on watch need to make a Vigor check. IF they succeed the get their Fatigue back that they lost yesterday. If they miss it they will still have the Fatigue point tomorrow.

Also I am assuming you want to set watches. IF so everyone make a Notice check please :)

Alenysturathe lost human form around the time they set up camp. She gave a wide-jawed yawn as they settled down. She watched over them as they ate and took her watch assignment from Dawn.

Vigor check: 1D8.OPEN(8)-1 = [2]-1 = 1
1D6.OPEN(6)-1 = [6, 1]-1 = 6

Got it! Um, does that mean my notice check isn’t at -1, or does that not take place until morning?

Notice check: 1D8.OPEN(8)-1 = [8, 3]-1 = 10
1D6.OPEN(6)-1 = [2]-1 = 1

Another success!

Deezy, already running on fumes a bit from a bad night's rest before, is practically asleep before she hits the bedroll this time...

Vigor: 1d6e6-1 4 1d6e6-1 2

She doesn't notice much in that state, unsurprisingly.

Perception: 1d6e6-1 0 1d6e6-1 2

(Note - if the perception is meant to take place in the morning, after resting and gearing up, she'd actually have bonuses to that Perception check)

GM: I am going too assume the order of your 'watch' is the order of your posting. Also if you made your Vigor roll (you all did) you don't suffer a penalty to your Perception check. So what happened when, random: 1D3 = [3] = 3, last watch

The night passes uneventfully until it is Deezy's turn at watch. She was tinkering with one of her devices when Alenys was awakened by ...something. Sitting up and looking about she so some movement on the edge of the camp. There appear to be about a dozen or so humanoid shapes but it is too dark for the Hatchling to be sure who or what they are. She also heard something on the opposite side of camp, like heavily footfall trying to be stealthy...

GM: Alenys has a round to do something...

Round 0

Alenysturathe lifted her head from her talons. Did she hear something? Yes, with her infravision she spotted movement at the edge of camp. A dozen or so humanoids. And something heavy was moving on the opposite side of camp.

“Dawn! Deezy! Wake up! Someone’s here!” Alenys called out in a harsh whisper.

Then she started casting a spell. Dawn, Deezy, and Alenys felt energy surge through them, toughening them.

[sblock=OOC]It was hard to decide what to boost since Deezy is ranged and Dawn is melee; Alenys can be either. I figured Vigor or Spirit would be best.[/sblock]

1D6.OPEN(6) = [2] = 2

Success, so everyone’s Vigor goes up by 1 die (and your Toughness goes up, too, I think)

Alenys calls out to her allies and then bolsters their health with her psychics. Her shouts also starts waking some of the refugees who cry in surprise and wake more people. The two dog boys with the group are on the other side of the camp but Marcus is also awakened, beady eyed but away! Varg starts moaning and trying to away but his wounds are still effecting him...

Alenys sees the group of humanoids break out of the tree line about 60 yards away. They are strange looking horse like headed DBees. There is a huge roar from the other group and a massive creatures with bat like wings steps out of the trees (about 80 yards away)!!! Alenys is sure there is at least one additional huge figure still back in the trees.

GM: Yes your Toughness also goes up by one with a boosted Vigor. Just a note that everyone recovered their Fatigue from yesterday so you are NOT at an penalty for Fatigue for this battle...

[sblock=Initiative Cards]Alenys - King of Diamonds
Dawn - Queen of Spades
Deezy - 3 of Clubs

Creatures- Group 1 - 5 of Hearts
Creatures- Group 2 - 10 of Clubs[/sblock]

Heroes go first, Actions?

Anyone can make a Survival Check to determine what either group is made up of.

Also the huge bat wing creatures cause Fear. You only need to make the roll if you are heading towards them. It is a straight Spirits roll, if you fail you are Shaken, Critical Fumble (double 1's) you are Shaken and have to roll on the Fright table

"'Course I love ya for yerself, Aneela," muttered Dawn in her sleep. "The four arms're just a bonus - "

At hearing the shout, and then smelling the scene of magic wash over her - biting down a brief reflexive panic, as she realized it was Alenys - Dawn was bolt upright in a second, grabbing her rifle and sniffing the air, flipping the night vision goggles on her helmet down.

"Who goes there! Stop where you are an' identify yerself, or I will open fire!" Dawn sighted her rifle, looking down the scope at who they were facing...

OOC: Dawn Survival Check.: 1D6.OPEN(6)+3 = [3]+3 = 6

Dawn will hold an action on the enemy, since she hasn't got confirmation they're hostile - if they attack or charge she'll shoot the biggest one.

GM: Dawn recognizes the giant bat-wing creature as a gargoyle, a supernatural demon who are suppose to have a great kingdom in Europe. Their hides are mega-level of resistant and they are said to have some minor levels of natural psionics.
The others she does not recognize.

With another great roar the gargoyle leaps into the air and two more take flight from the forest flying towards the refugees!! People start screaming but most are to panic to do anything more the quake in absolute terror.

One of the lead DBees is carrying a strange rifle like device. At Dawn's shout the creature yells back "We no hurt! We flee... the demons!!! Seek help!" in very broken Anglish.
