SAVE STAR WARS d20! SIGN OUR PETITION to WoTC!

Iron_Chef

First Post
As you may be aware, WoTC has discontinued releasing any new books for their Star Wars d20 game in favor of releasing only Star Wars Minis... Therefore, we have started an online petition to "save" the Star Wars d20 game...

SIGN THE "SAVE STAR WARS d20" ONLINE PETITION HERE!!!
http://www.petitiononline.com/savswrpg/petition.html

The fans of Star Wars d20 have gathered over one thousand signatures so far and the WoTC higher-ups are aware of it. Whether or not they restart the line is another matter, but it's better than sitting around bitching about it. An online petition may be our best and only shot at saving the game... Together, we can make our voices heard! :)

Please sign it and tell your friends to sign it!

The discussion thread about the petition on the WoTC Star Wars forum* is here:

* Note that discussion/speculation about the future of the Star Wars RPG line is "forbidden" there.

Its worth trying and won't hurt to sign it, but probably won't come to anything at all(as the decision is based on money, and a vocal view don't make the kind of money for WotC that the many who buy the minis do)...however, I do have one thing important to say.

Caps lock bad.

Why bother?

WotC has made a business decision and it's not going to be reversed. The Star Wars ROG line simply doesn't produce a high enough return for Hasbro, in part because of the licensing fees that have to be paid to Lucasfilm.

Ditto. Wish they put out cool stuff and kept it fresh but it ain't happening.

Why do you need more books from WOTC to keep playing d20 Star Wars?
Well, we could use a new starship books that would complement the Revised Core Ruleset. The update material for the Original Core Ruleset are very lackluster.

I'm trying not to stress out about their business decision for the simple fact that I'm not surprised. Just one more disappointment coming from them when it comes to doing RPG lines that is non-D&D.

I truly miss the WotC Class of 2000 (Anthony Valterra, Monte Cook, Skip William, SKR, JD Wiker, etc.).

I don't play Star Wars, but if it is anything like D&D, why can't you simply create your own specs for starships?

I feel the same way, but I signed it anyway.

You can, really. Just like you can create your own rules for pretty much any RPG on the market. Preserving the line is more of a want than a necessity. Nobody likes to see their favorite game line end (I, for instance, almost cried when I first found out that WEG lost the Star Wars license back in late 98 or so).

They're keeping the Minis line, but not the RPG. Don't the IDIOTS realize that the majority of people who buy the Minis want them for the RPG...

Iron, any chance I can up-date my Sig? I forgot the line "I for one won't be buying any more SWMinis without seeing support for the RPG I buy them for."
