Saving Bindar Karnom (Kinrisar Campaign)

Making your way back to Crolon turns out to be a bit more arduous than your trek through the bug infested Jarra Jungle. And you weren't actually IN the jungle, just skirting the northern border. You are finally brought home in militia wagons. Several of the militia guards at the gate take the time to thank you each personally for rescuing their comrades from their captors.

Omar Al'Jar is eager to set up a meeting with you and Alistra Karnom. She has sent for her son to be brought to their manor as soon as he is able to complete his duties with the militia command. Following this she will meet with you and settle her deal with you.

Several days pass and Respected Al'Jar sends word to you that a meeting is requested at the Karnom manor. Al'Jar accompanies you to the manor and you are shown inside by very grateful servants to a well decorated atrium. The decor in the manor is understated luxury done very well. Wine, candies, sweet meats, smoked fish and other delicacies are brought out for you to enjoy. A brief wait ensues and Bindar and his mother Alistra enter the room.

Both thank you profusely for your efforts. It is clear that without your intervention Bindar's fate would have been grim indeed. Alistra has a tray holding four small pouches at her side. She gives Mandrin, Azeem, Ezieer and Lorimar each a pouch containing 12 platinum and 5 gold coins.

A meal is served that is quite good. Very little fish to Ezieer's delight. At the conclusion, Alistra asks "So what are your plans now, gentlemen?"

"There were two things that we found during the trek. One was a coded book written in Mulhati In all the excitment we forgot to tell Bindar about it." (He turns to face Bindar) "Does it belong to you?"
"The other thing we found was a scroll of some kind written in a language unknown to us. If we can get this deciphered it might give us some clue as to what the kobolds were doing."

Bindar examines the book and quickly recognizes it. "That is the patrol log book kept by our lieutenant. Where did you find it? Hopefully, those kobolds and their leader were not able to examine this in detail..."

Alistra asks if she may examine the scrolls. "Perhaps one of my scribes will recognize the language it is written in. I have several that work for me and most are quite trustworthy."

Azeem Razuddi

"No, the Kobolds did not get the book. We found it discarded near the site of the battle. They probably couldn't read it and just left it, or didn't even see it." He assures Bindar.

"Well, depending on what the rest of my companions think, that sounds like a good idea about the scroll. I'm sure we can trust your scribes with it, but I would like a consensus about matters of importance like this." He says to Alistra then turns to the rest of the group with the question in his eyes.

Alistra looks to the others as well.

Bindar takes the coded book, "I will return this to the barracks. They will want to know that it is safe from our enemies."

"If you would like, I will take these scrolls to my scribe at this time. The sooner we know what this says, the sooner we will know what this kobold leader was up to," Alistra adds.

Azeem Razuddi

"That sounds like the best thing to do. Here you are." He says and hands her the scroll. "Hopefully one of your scribes will be able to tell us what it says."

Alistra accepts the offered scrolls. She looks to Bindar and the log book and says, "It seems that there is work to be done then. I would like to know how to get into contact with you in case something of interest comes up. Respected Al'jar is somewhat...taxed...by his responsibilities. It would be nice to be able to save his energies for his own priorities rather than arranging meetings between us. How may I find you?"

Azeem Razuddi

"We should be staying in town. When you need to contact us just send a message to the Whispering Willow. Most of us will be staying there and we will be able to get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for the fine meal, mi'lady Karnom. We shall be off now and await the translation of the scroll." (he bows) "Unless of course there is anything else you would like to discuss..."
