Scrying and secret door detection

I am an elf. I am scrying a friend who is searching for secret doors?

Do I get the automatic search for passing within 5 feet if my magical sensor is indeed within 5 feet of a secret door?

No, because YOU are not. (It's a GM call, but the Search skill lets the PC find things through "active effort", which, to me, means "hands-on". I'd let you use Spot, but not Search. YMMV).

True but my point was that if I detect it by passing within 5 feet, it must be visually (well, it's not by searching with my hands since I am 5 feet away).
