Gurdan desperately wants to shout out to Gurdis, but the sight of the noise-amplifying crystal stops him. He raises one finger, signaling to the others to stay put. Looking around the inside of the chamber, Gurdan uses his familiarity with caves to point out the quietest paths possible around the crystal. (Dungeoneering 23)

[sblock=occ]Riel is good at stelth and arcana for disabling it.[/sblock]

Stelth 1d20+7=24

Riel silently sneaks up to the crystal. (next round he will try to freeze it solid if it hasn't been taken care of already.)

With Gurdan's knowledge of caves, caverns, and echoing sounds, he quietly informs the team of the best way to make it across the cavern floor without disturbing the sensitive crystal structure. The two warlocks, confident in their light footwork, easily make it over to the tuning fork without creating a single vibration.

Intimately familiar with all sorts of arcane devices, Garrick finds the central vibration filament deep in the base of the crystal. With the flick of his wrist, Garrick magically snaps the filament. The room goes completely silent. You hadn't realized it before, but there was a constant low-level hum that was reverberating from the crystal walls. Without the feedback of the tuning fork, the walls stopped vibrating and now even the sound of the group's breathing seemed almost loud.

Now that the team has kept Tracker from easily determining where they were located, they just needed to find which of the three remaining paths they needed to take to get out of the maze!

Lo-kag looks at the path choices and confidently states in a quite voice "Hey everyone, I believe this is the way...follow me." After a short while, it is clear that Lo-Kag chose the wrong path!

After about a quarter mile of following Lo-Kag through several turns and twists in the path, it becomes evident that they are going the wrong way. Several large mushroom-like masses are spread out in this section of the maze and as Lo-Kag nears one, they begin shooting yellow mist in his face. The mist quickly fills up the air around the group, and their first indication that the mist was dangerous was Lo-Kag's gagging and choking.

[sblock=Everyone] Lo-Kag loses a healing surge. Everyone else must roll an Endurance check, DC 20. Failure means you lose a healing surge. [/sblock]

Alexia watches with a pained expression as the bat on her shoulder chokes and collapses into her waiting cupped palms. She gingerly closes her hands over the creature. When she parts her hands, the bat is gone, and Alexia looks slightly the worse for wear.

ooc: Endurance 16.

Retracing their steps and getting as far away from the choking yellow mist as they could, the group finds themselves back in the tuning fork room. With his head and eyes pointed downward from the gagging and choking, Grryth comes upon a rather important discovery. Scattered about the floor were tiny flecks of crystal, just larger than dust particles that coated the floor. Noticing the large, crystal-empty path that showed where they had headed, Grryth searches for another such set of tracks. Carefully moving about the room, the shifter's keen eyes pick up the tracks moving the opposite direction as the tunnel that they came from.

Like a bloodhound, Grryth bolts down the path of his enemy. Sure that he was just about to catch his prey, he was rather surprised when he had to stop short at a flowing river. Apparently this is where the waters from the bridge-less chasm cuts back across the underground landscape. At a wide 30 feet across, one simple miss-timed jump could spell doom as the icy currents carried you through untold dangers and into the unknown depths of the cavern.
