Selling your unwanted stuff

I'd recommend trying to sell or trade stuff here first. Then go to eBay. eBay's fees are pretty reasonable, but if you can move the stuff without paying them, why not do so? Plus, it's hard to find a bigger concentration of D&D fans online than here.

Put together a list and post them here. If you want to trade for anything, make a note of that too. Anything that doesn't move here, I'd try eBay.

Ebay worked for me. I made several hundred pounds selling my old stuff. Of course, I then promptly spent the money buying new stuff .....

I'd recommend accepting payment by Paypal only. It stops you having the hassle of banking cheques, and weeds out some of the less attractive buyers. It does cost, but for me the price was worth it to avoid the aggravation.

Ebay has a pricing system for listing that works in bands. Check where the bands are. Listing my items at 1 pound cost me more than listing at 99 pence would have, for instance. They also sometimes do special offers, so if you are not in a great hurry you might want to wait for one of those.

You might also want to limit your sales to people in your country. The international postage costs often puts off foreign buyers anyway, and if you miscalculate the postage and have to cover the difference yourself it can become very expensive (as I found out the hard way when I sent my 2nd edition stuff to Canada from the UK).

Having said that, you could offer them to people on these boards, or over at Dragonsfoot or Wizards of the Coast. Depends how much you trust thses guys (and how far they are willing to trust you ....)

Also Selling Older Books in my Collection

As the above says.

I have Six pages of books I would like to sell. The books include a few 3.0 books, many 2nd Edition, MANY World of Darkness books and a couple rarer smaller sized publishers.

If anyone is interested in seeing the list please email me at: barovan@hotmail.com

Serious inquirers only please. If I have to mail these I would like to minmize the costs if at all possible. Please make sure to be clear in the subject as any new address I get will be put in the junk email so I need to able to easily pull it out.

I sold almost all of my 1ed and 2ed stuff on half.com. Got around 60% of cover price on most of the stuff. After selling 5 things to one guy, he contacted me and asked me if I could just send it all to him in one shipment and he'd ship me $250 + shipping.

Sold many of my Magic cards on e-bay. Definitely the way to go. Made a couple grand on my alphas, betas and Arabian Nights.

The other option is check and see if your local gaming store will buy them. Many times they will give you more for store credit than they will in cash, which can be dangerous. Thats what I did with the rest of my Magic cards....and ended up turning around and buying $1500 in WH40K minis....
