Shadowrun d20?

IMHO, the best way to do it would be to mix Spycraft (2.0, which apparently will more more than the 6 core classes of 1.0), the cybernetic system from OGL Cybernet (very SR-ish), and the magic system from Sovereign Stone.

No, and there won't be.

Shadowrun fans (and authors) are the most rabid anti-d20 gamers I've encountered.

Geoff.

While they probably could say the same thing about me :p (if they cared at all), the Shadowrun fans and authors are the main reason I gave up on Shadowrun (though also the 3E rules, which I don't like as much as 2E). Especially that Dumpshock place.

Would FanPro and possibly WizKids object to outsourcing it to yet another publisher, one who will do d20 version?

Contrary to popular belief, every game doesn't have to have a d20 version...

I believe FanPro/WizKids have had many opportunities to sell the SR license to a d20 publisher but have declined. From what I've heard, WotC would love to get their mits on SR (and subsequently kill it IMO).

Hmm, I like Dumpshock a lot. To be completely honest, I find it quite refreshing that there are systems out there that have just as a devoted following to something that's not d20. While I like d20, I don't want a d20 version of SR.

True, but if you're building a modestly rules-heavy game with classes and levels, then it's really hard to justify not going d20 these days.

Rather d20 Modern + d 20Future + Urban arcana ;)

I know someone who has gone this route. He played 1st ed. Shadowrun and learned to hate the rules and love the setting. He even tried using R. Talsorian's Cyberpunk for a while.

From a sales standpoint Shadowrun is a pimple on D20's butt, financially there would be no gain for Hasbro to spend money on it for no other reason than to deep six it.

Wow, now that would be a compounded Gross Conceptual Error if there ever was one.

Not more or less than a d20 L5R or d20 CoC version, I'd say...we've seen both so far. Not saying they were of equal quality to their originals, mind you (although I like what I've seen of d20 CoC), but it has happened. :p
