Share Spells ability and Cure spells

For some reason this nevercame up for me in 3.0.

Wehn you cast a cure spell on a wizard/sorceror with a familiar, does the cure spell effectively double, curing both of them?

More specifically, does this work for druids and their animal companions in 3.5?

I tried to download the Faq, but no luck.

Yes.

The spell must be cast by the caster, target the caster, and the caster and the companion/familiar must be within 5' of each other.

...Unless you think the Tome and Blood rules are still valid. I don't, and Andy Collins has said that what you are trying to do is one very applicable usage of the ability.

There were no Tome and Blood rules for Sharing Cure spells. Or for sharing stat buffs.

They were a horrible mass hallucination on the part of everyone who bought the book, but they don't really exist. 'cos Wizards wouldn't have published something that made that little sense.

So it must be all in our minds.

... right?

Ok, that was what I thought. Man that is going to up the power of druids in 3.5 now that they have animals with decent amounts of hit points.

Thanks

I've seen it argued by other people that you can Share Spells Wild Shape now...

Ugh.

Well, again, it depends if you're using Tome and Blood rules or not.

T&B allows you to Share spells, SLAs, or Su abilities, so Wildshape qualifies.

3.5 Core Rules only allows spells, so Wildshape doesn't.

I like the T&B rules for Paladins (although remember, the rules about Cure spells and ability boosters never happened!), but I don't think they actually follow what was intended in either 3E or 3.5 Core Rules...

A *little* bit selective there, duntcha think? : p

I think a Half-Celestial Sharing his SLAs with his Mount makes sense.

I think the T&B Cure spell rules were ridiculous.

So if I have to be selective, that's fine :)

Su abilities, I must admit, have a lot more potential for abuse - and make less intuitive 'sense' - and as a DM, I'd have to give it some thought.

No, no, this applies special mounts (paladins and the
like) and familars ONLY. Not druids' animal companions.
