Shield Charge equivalent?

where does it say with Charge that it REQUIRES you to stop at your foe?

BTW: Divine Shield won't help you out much unless your Charisma is damn high.

The nifty thing is, Divine Shield adds a bonus to both the offensive AND defensive capabilities of a shield. In effect, you hit more often, do more damage, and get a higher AC to boot.

That's nice even with a low charisma bonus (assuming you don't have a +5 offensively/+5 defensively enchanted shield)
 

When using the attack action with a melee weapon, the character can move both before and after the attack, provided that the character's total distance moved is not greater than the character's speed. Moving in this way does not provoke an attack of opportunity from the defender the character attacks.

If you do not move in the manner indicated (i.e. if you only move before the attack, or only move after it) then you do not gain the benefit of the second line of the Spring Attack feat, the freedom from AoOs.

I concur. By the way the two actions work, they're incompatible

You are aware that Divine Shield and Might start the round you activate them?

So for example, if you have a 16 CHA (+3) you have to activate it, thus wasting a precious standard action and you'll only have the benefit to attack for 2 rounds after.
You also had to spend a turn attempt.

Really, only with a +4 modifier is it passably useable for all the feats it requires.

PHB pg 124
All movement must be in a straight line, with no backing up allowed. You must stop as soon as you are within striking range of your target. You can't run past him an attack from another direction.
 


Ki Ryn - I read that line you quoted well as just a description, not a rule.

If read literally, you would not be able to Charge into a Bull Rush or into a Grapple, because that would not satisfy that restrictive text, if it was read literally.
 

You are, of course, welcome to play but whatever rules you choose. To me, the intent appears quite clear.

Sure you could. You charge up and must stop at 5' to make your attack. Bull Rush and Grapple are both attacks. If those attacks succeed, you then go into the rules as related to them. If you couldn't grapple after a charge, you also couldn't grapple after moving, because a successful grapple moves you into their square, and you can't move, attack, move without Spring Attack.
