Shield Spell vs. Touch Attack

Sorry if this has been asked before, still no board searching.

Is the Sheild spell's +7 AC included vs. a touch attack? The spell description does not name the bonus, but does mention that it's a force effect.

The Shield spell grants cover, and a Cover bonus counts toward touch attacks.

Now, what about the cover bonus granted by a tower shield?

Does a spell with "Target : Creature Touched" count as a "targeted spell", against which a tower shield specifically provides no advantage?

Since the tower shield helps against lightning bolts and similar stuff (AFAIK) with reflex save bonus... it should help.

After all it's more a wall you put on the ground in front of yourself. It's not exactly something you hold or wear.

A lightning bolt has an "Area". A touch-attack spell generally has a "Target" (creature touched).

"A tower shield, however, does not provide cover against targeted spells; a spellcaster can cast a spell on you by targetting the shield you are holding."

Uh... if you don't hold it, it falls down. It only weighs 45 lbs - not much point relying on the cover of something that's balancing on an edge, when the first half-hearted kick from an opponent will topple it over...

Regardless...a Tower Shield provides cover. Touch attacks ignore armor bonus, sheild bonus(armor bonus from a shield) and natural armor bonus. The bonus from cover is called a cover bonus and is not ignored during a touch attack.

Wrong, as was quoted above.

A tower shield, however, does not provide cover against targeted spells; a spellcaster can cast a spell on a character by targeting the shield.

A shield spell, however, does protect you from touch attacks.

To get around a a Shield Spell or a Tower Shield, have the mage get the Bend Spell feat (From Dragon magazine). For raising the spell slot +1 level, it ignores all cover less than 100%.
