Shouldn't drawing arrows from your quiver be a 'drawing a weapon' move equivelent act

Thrown weapons are slower, but you can add your Str bonus. Crossbows are slow, but they're, well, crossbows.

Crossbows have the advantage of being useable when on the ground for example. (Pretend to grovel and then WHAM)

Like others on this thread I'm sure, I've used a longbow. I've used a crossbow. I can tell you that it's ALL about cocking the crossbow - the time used to actually retrieve a new bolt is insignificant. But when you pull that string back you have to make sure it locks in correctly, otherwise life gets painful and probably embarassing.

Maybe you're just 1st level and have Point Blank Shot and Rapid Shot (I'm assuming you're human, Darklone)? And does the eyepatch cause you additional penalites for lack of depth perception?

Pleased to see that I'm not the only one who thought of that!

It's always confused me how an archer could fire so many arrows a round but a knife thrower had to draw each knife individually, costing actions. If you're drawing it to throw, isn't it ammunition? This means that even with Rapid Shot, I still can't throw 2 knives unless I had one in each hand. But if I did that, wouldn't I get 2 weapon fighting penalties? (TWF with Ranged weapons is insane.)

I don't know... how accurate are you with those two shots? You might be a level 10 fighter dude if you hit most of the time.

I know someone who can fire an arrow every 2 seconds with great accuracy. (He is a very skilled bow hunter that goes after bear usually) He would probably be a level 15 fighter dude.

I would think a knife thrower should be able to throw one knife/second pretty easily. Including the drawing part. Same with darts and shuriken. The two-handed weapon issue could even increase this rate of fire.

Or they could do that knife-thrower trick where they hold a bunch of knives in one hand and throw them with the other. Maybe two knives/second?

Not that I'm saying that's how the rules should be.
