D&D 5E Show me your favorite missing class

I feel level 5 does need something else to be in line with other half-casters which do gain something at level 5 other than just level 2 spells. If not war magic, then something else. Putting it at level 7 also makes it a level where they gain quite a lot since that's also where they gain some subclass abilities. To me it makes the levelling of the class a little unbalanced since they gain little at level 5 and more than usual at level 7. Other than that, I think it is a good class.
It's a fair point, but most good homebrewers tend to lean conservative in their balance decisions to fend off balance concerns. Being a little behind a paladin at level 5-6 is hardly damning, considering how strong paladins are.
