Simple question about Refl saves

If you are flatfooted or an enemy that you don't have noticed yet casts something on you, do you get a reflex save (with penalty of no dex bonus of course) or not?

Similar question. 4 players surround and flank someone. He casts invisibility and walks away. Do they get AoOs?

Sorry for asking so simple things but I didn't find the answers on a quick check in the PHB.

You're flat-footed, not helpless. You get a save with your full Dexterity bonus - the loss of Dex applies only to AC.

If they notice him moving away.

For a complete answer on the invisibility issue, go to the DMG page 78 for spot and listen DCs to notice and pinpoint an invisible oponent. It's possible they can take an attack.

Unless he quickens the spell, everone will get an AoO just because he was casting. If he didn't quicken the spell and he isn't hasted, he can only take a 5 foot step anyway. Taking a 5 foot step never invokes an AoO.

Since when did invisibility become a full-round spell?

I think he meant that if he was planning on taking a standard move while casting Invisibility he would suffer an AoO from that in addition to the AoO for casting a spell inside someone's threatened area. Better hope they don't have Combat Reflexes :)

Unfortunately even with combat reflexes you can still only get one attack of opportunity per opponent per round.

But regardless, they would all get attacks of opportunity against the person casting invisibility because casting defensively is stupid and overpowered and should be banned and people shouldn't be casting spells when flanked by 4 guys anyway.

:)

I'm sure there's an "in my campaign" missing from that sentence :)

Sorry. Was thinking of Sorcerers and metamagic at the time. Different site, different arguement. My bad.
