Whole pile o'conjecture there. Personally, I can't figure where Escape Artist goes. Doesn't seem appropriate for any of'em.

Int is not useful for the 3.5 "smart fighter".
Well, yeah it is. It does the same thing INT does for all smart characters: gives'em more skill points. You at least have the option of cross-class skills in 3e.

But really, what is your point here? Two wrongs make a right.

Meh

I see two or three good things, but it would be vastly easier to house rule a couple ideas I like back in 3.5 than it would be to fix this into something I want.

Probably Acrobatics, but it might be Thievery - I mean, the standard description uses it for escaping manacles, right?

This is one of those statements that convinces me that there is no way that they can make all of us happy. I'd be perfectly happy if no class had a dumpstat.

I am an extremist, I either would prefer no class having a dump stat or all classes having 5. I dislike these 3 stats are uber important for a rogue, if you go this way in character build its in this order of preference. Those other 3 stats well they suck for you, they even suck more than they did in previous editions because they do pretty much nothing if it isn't a class ability.

Personally, after looking at the rogue class's build, I can't shake the feeling that skills are little more than an afterthought. "Excruciating Poke" and "Artful Smack Upside the Head" is much more what the 4e rogue is about.

My points are:
-I see no problem in characters not gaining extra skills because of high intelligence. It makes sense for some skills the realy heavily on "theory", but most skills are all about practice, so Int shouldn't be such an important factor.
-If that's true, now in 4E Int is so important for the smart rogue as it is for the smart fighter.

I'd like something like:"For every 2 points of int bonus, choose one additional int-based skill; for every 2 points of dex bonus, choose one additional dex based skill; etc."

But Indiana Jones does have the skills of stealthy thief.

Right?
Now include a screenshot from a minute later, when he is being chased by a giant boulder because he completely botched his attempt to disable the trap :p
