So, are we still going to be doing this when we're 70?

At this point, I've gamed for more than half my life -- 16 years out of 26 -- and I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't still be gaming when I get older. I will probably game in different ways, and focus on different elements of the game, but I don't tend to worry too much about popular conceptions of my interests (i.e., D&D is something everyone just plays in high school).

Whoohoo! Just imagine how fun this game will be when the DM and all the players are senile. :D

Will make for some interesting encounters I bet!

Ashrem brings up a good point - if we all go senile, we could adventure once again into the temple of elemental evil, not knowing what to expect!

All the old games would be brand new again! :)

Yeah. I could just see it now:

DM: You open the door. There's 5 orcs in the room - they draw their swords and lunge at you.

PC1: I'm cold.

PC2: <taps on hearing aid> What did he say? There's a luge in the room?

PC1: Not luge... LUNGE you senile old coot!

DM: You open the door. There's 5 orcs in the room - they draw their swords and lunge at you.

PC3: Do we have any prune juice?

DM: You open the door. There's 5 orcs in the room - they draw their swords and lunge at you.

PC1: In the fridge - duh!

PC2: I'm cold. What time is it?

DM: You open the door. There's 5 orcs in the room - they draw their swords and lunge at you.

PC1: Weren't we in this room already?

Hell. I'm there. :D

"New ranger for 23th ED totally sucks!"
"No, it's fine only if they have D10 for HD!"
"Why they don't have many shot? Without that, it's not a ranger!"
"Wrong, manyshot was given to ranger at 3rd ED!"
"No no, it was 3.5 ED!!"
"I can't believe all of you think new ranger is underpowered. I'll ban it, unless this is April fool!"
"Rager is two weapon fighters, this is historical trueth!"
"No problem, I'll use my homebrew ranger IMC, anyway"

70? by then your shaking hands should be able to roll the dice great!

I met my wife at a game, I'm gaming with my daughter now and look forward to being able to game with my grandchildren. What better way to keep the mind alive than to work on imaginative fun like D&D17.5. :)

Think how much better we'll all be at roleplaying! We'll be old enough to not be embarassed by any storyline and have all manner of experience to draw on for adventures.

Gaming is excellent now and can only get better. :)

Oh, I believe you, that's not the problem.

You just... seemed young. That's all. I just got that funny little idea into my head that I was
older than you. Y'know. When you're actually twice my age.

Sorry. :o

When I'm 70, I'll be so senile I won't be playing D&D anymore, I'd probably think it was real and living it ut in my head.

"In my day, we walked through 10 feet of snow, uphill, both ways, just to kill a young adult white dragon. You kids... you complan about the smallest invconveniece."

"Don't mind grandad, he's just a little senile"

"Don't me me feeblemind you, young lady!"

Me too! I'll be in Chicago for work (and fun!) from 7 to 14 June. I'm planning on going to Games Plus on 8 June. Within 24 hours of my arrival, I intend to visit the FLGS - I'm an uber-geek!:p :D

16th-19th here. And yep, I'm planning on hitting Games Plus, too. :)

Maybe a couple of games could be arranged. Drop me an Email, if either of you like, and we'll see what we can do... :)

Imagine how many people in the world will be gamers by the time we're all that old...:) Perhaps there will be more gamers than non-gamers, or as I like to call them: deprived.;)
