Sorcerer / Bonded Summoner Question

Hey all,

I've been dared to build an effective 6th level sorcerer -- I've decided to build a sorcerer 5 / bonded summoner 1 with a pet earth elemental.

I'm trying to build a sorcerer who is more of a buffer / combat support character than mobile artillery.

With the apprentice feat, I've got Use Magic Device +11 (+13 with scrolls). I plan on taking a couple of scrolls of cure light wounds and a scroll of silence (arc). Can anyone with experience with UMD tell me some good ideas to plan for in advance?

I've taken improved toughness and apprentice as feats -- what are good two other feats as choices? I'm thinking Extend Spell or Improved Unarmed Strike and Grapple (as down the road he'll be an elder earth elemental -- it would help to be able to grapple at that point).

My 2nd level spells are false life and shatter, my 1st level spells are enlarge person, ray of enfeeblement, mage armor, fist of stone, and hail of stone.

My magic items include an amulet of health +2, about 40 scrolls, a wand of magic missile, an elemental gem (in case of emergency, break glass and get large earth elemental for 11 rounds).

Lastly, at 15th level, I'd be sorcerer 5 / bonded summoner 10 - can anyone suggest another good prestige class to turn to at that point?

Depending on your spell selection, you might want Spell Focus.

I'd stay away from improved grapple and the like for now -- there will be time to select those feats when you're further along the PrC. How often are you going to be grappling right now? :)

You might want the metamagic feat that gives spells a duration of 24 hours... I'm blanking on the name...

Magical Aptitude or Skill Focus could also be of assistance with your UMD.
