Spelljammer Spelljammer Miniatures Coming!

WizKids is producing miniatures for the upcoming Spelljammer campaign setting, including asteroids, nautiloids, space galleons, and more! These range from $62.99 for some of the smaller boxes, to $262.49 for the Astral Dreadnought.

The Tradesman always seemed the odd man out in Spelljammer ship names. All the rest of the human ships have animal names, i.e. squid hammerhead, octopus, dragonfly. The tradesman is a fish shape, I don't know that it particularly looks like a flying fish, but it should have a more elaborate name to fit in. Plus, tradesmen use many spelljamming ships to trade, not just the Tradesman.

And "flying fish" just fits the theme of the setting better than "tradesman" does.

Indeed, but this means someone will be doing 3D printed minis for all of the ships. I'd love to see the Elvish Armada, Dwarven Citadel ship, and the Spelljammer as to-scale minis!

You want a city sized spelljammer at scale… that’s called the map backing, not a mini.

Well, "Lizardmen" became "Lizardfolk" all the way back in 3rd edition.

I guess it's not TOO much of a surprise.

Man O' War was renamed to a Star Moth ship. I've seen a picture for it, but its not in the original post.

Haven't seen an Elvin Flitter or Elvin Armada ship, though the latter may be something that would come out in its own set, perhaps like the Spelljammer (perhaps with Smalljammers?) itself. I'm really surprised they haven't announced a "super" model of the Spelljammer for this.
