Wonderful. Start teasing me 10 months ahead of time, so I can get really burned out before the movie is here. Great idea. :)

Having actually downloaded and watched it now...

Okay, so by the trailer they seem to be making this less the "Venom" storyline, and more the "black suit" storyline - by which I mean the thing is more about the suit's effects on Spidey, and less about the big fanged thing with the waggling tongue.

That, to me, is a good thing.

Completely agreed. I quite enjoyed the 'black suit' storyline, but the 'venom' storyline left me completely cold.

On a related topic - I loved that snippet of the Sandman!

There is going to be a Venom though. Check the IMDB here for casting to see who's who.

They can have Venom, so long as he isn't really the point. Peter Parker's struggle to handle the thing he doesn't understand is interesting. Fights with Venom are (as far as I am concerned) meaningless and boring without the context that Peter has already beat the thing once.

So, get the new suit, spend most of the movie struggling with it, and finally beat it (in a belltower, preferrably). Just as Spidey now has control of his life, and tries to put together what was nearly ripped asunder by the suit's influence, Venom comes up for a climatic battle.

That structure would work. But most of a movie with Venom would bore me to tears, and be thoroughly agains the whole point of the first two Spider-Man movies, which have been Peter.

Well this is fan-freakin' craptastic. All my hopes of having Samual L. Jackson play the Next Spiderman have now been shattered.

Die Toby Mcteague, DIE!
