SPOILERS- More questions for Song of Ice & Fire readers

1. Syrio vs the guards when they tried to capture Arya. This one man held off a few ARMORED knights with just a stick. To bad he died.
We don't know that he died- Arya runs away after seeing that the commander shears through his stick with the sword. I personally think he's too damn quick to be killed... in that scene at least.

Why was Master Aemon so intrigued by the lack of heat in Stannis's sword?

Maybe because Mellisandre DOESN'T worship the Rh'llor. Maybe she is a worshipper of The Dark One, or what ever they called him. Rh'llor is the god of the sun and it was mentioned in a nutshell that the only difference between life and death was the heat in ones body. Stannis sword does not give off heat because it was foraged by the Dark God.

And that Bandit group lead by Beric The Lightning lord are almost your typical Adventuring party. The darn fighter keeps dying and the Cleric keeps raising him.

Agreed, I think Syrio's still alive. It seems like Martin was quite careful to not declare his fate.

Also, put me in the "Arya hunts down and assassinates every Frey" book. Due to it's horrific nature, the act will forge her into the greatest/most cold blooded assassin in the Kingdoms.

Or she could chicken out half way through and realize that she's still human...but this is a Martin book we're talking about.

I too think Syrio still lives...
I think Arya is on the way to meeting up with him again
in 'forgot the name' of the faceless ones? with Jaquen

and her training will be completed...

Then the Vengence of Arya Stark will begin :D

I cant wait
She is so kick arse already (and shes 10) :)

The Fool

1. What's your favorite small-scale combat scene? (one on one or few combatants)

Eddard Stark remembering his fight against the three members of the KingsGuard.

2. What's your favorite large-scale combat scene?

Robb Stark in the woods against Jaime, the King Slayer.

3. Which death scene is your favorite?

Robert's oldest son (who lived far too long)

4. Which rivalry between two people have you enjoyed the most?

Tyrion vs. the world

5. Useless speculation time: Your predictions, however poorly founded, about the future of the story... or just where you'd like to see the story go.

Tyrion becomes Dany's advisor.

Dany, Tyrion, and Bran become the three Dragon Riders.

The Fire Priest knows that her "king" is not the real savior of the world, but she is using her magic to make it look like he is the real savior. Not sure why. He doesn't have the real flaming sword of legend.

Jon Snow kills the bastard that burned the Stark's castle.

The Spider survives everything and dies of old age.

Rickon kills Petyr.

6. If you were trapped in Westeros at the beginning of aGoT, knowing fully what was to come but you COULDN'T CHANGE it (i.e. telling Robert about "his" children before his death), what would you do? Where would you go?

I'd find the warmest place on the planet and stay there.

Everyone seems to assume that Arya is going to be a major good guy.

Good guy? I didn't know there were any in this series. At least not alive. At best we get slightly paler shades of grey.

midnight... i liked your wu-tang sig. the best :)

I like the other thread, and I'd enjoy hearing more from other readers.

Gotta be mountain v viper. What other real intense duels have happened?
2. What's your favorite large-scale combat scene?
Hmm... this isn't Martin's strong point AFAI can tell. Nothing compares to the Pelannor Fields, that's for sure
3. Which death scene is your favorite?

Hmm... the BEST death scene was Robb biting the bullet. My FAVORITE would have to be that punk Joffrey or his Grampa.

4. Which rivalry between two people have you enjoyed the most?

Melisandre v Davos?

more rollerskating?

I’d have to say the combat that took place at the end of "The Hedge Knight" (?)

it provided a very good foreshadowing for the series in general and was very indicative of how a small fight could change the fate of the entire kingdom...

Or even a fart! (You folks remember what I'm talking about?)

George Martin read two passages from Feast of Crows at Worldcon this year in San Jose. I'm not sure how set in stone this stuff is but:

The first sequence was Tyrion riding in a caravan with the fat merchant who was originally involved with Danyrys sale to Drogo. The second was Arya climbing the steps and starting to explore a Temple to some sort of Death God. I got the impression that both of these were set "across the sea".

Resume speculation. ;-)
