Stacking DR et al.

Here's the Q:

A 2nd level forsaker gets 3/+1 DR when he breaks magic stuff. A werewolf always has 15/silver DR. So what happens when an afflicted lycanthropic forsaker breaks something magical? Does his DR become 18/+1? Does the hit first have to pass through 15/silver, then pass through 3/+1? Does the lycanthropic DR go away while the forsaker DR is active? Vice versa? Does DM lightning immediately strike the character thereby removing the problem?:)

2nd Q:

This character has 7 character levels; 2 barb, 3 MC ranger, and 2 Forsaker. He now has the werewolf template. This would increase his ECL to a 9 (is that adjustment right?) Does that mean he has to get enough XP to make 10th level in order to level up?

And this is just making sure:
Armor bonuses of the same type don't stack, unless it specifically says so. This would mean that the forsaker's natrual armor gained vis a vis Tough Defense would stack with the +2 natural armor from the werewolf template, right?

Thanks fellas.

If you have two types of DR, they apply separately and independently; they do not stack That lycanthropic forsaker would have DR 3/+1 and DR 15/silver. A weapon can bypass one type but not the other.

If he gets hit with a normal weapon, he gets the benefit of DR 15.
If the weapon is silver, it bypasses his werewolf DR but not his forsaker DR, so he gets the benefit of DR 3.
If the weapon is +1 or better, it bypasses all his DR.

So what happens when he is hit for 19 points of damage from a mundane weapon? 15 gets reduced from his werewolf DR; does 3 more get reduced from his forsaker DR? 19 points of damage from a mundane source turns into 1 HP off? Cool.

No, no, no, a thousand times no. The two kinds of DR do not stack.

If he gets hit for 19 points of damage from a nonmagical steel weapon, he takes 4 points of damage.

No, natural armor bonuses do not stack. If you recieve two natural armor bonuses, you use the higher of the two, unless stated otherwise in the ability. Tough Defense doesn't say anything to that effect, so they do not stack.

If it says under the werewolf description then you are correct Felix.

Also, if you added the template as you listed, then yes, you would need 10th level exp to level up as of Races of Faerun.

The natural armor thing isn't technically a stacking issue. The lycanthrope template says it increases your existing natural armor by +2.

So if you start with natural armor +2, and then become a werewolf, your existing armor bonus increases to +4. That is, it's a single bonus of +4, not two bonuses of +2 that stack with each other. (This is a subtle distinction, but it may make a difference to the interaction with other effects.)

Hi!
An interesting point comes up with the new 3.5 revisioned rules to DR. How would that stack if I have say DR 5/silver and DR 10/holy? As holy isn't silver and silver isn't holy (mostly) would they stack? Would you need a holy silver weapon to circumvent both DR?

Greetings
