Would you say this, even if you are one of the folks who who feel that it is more than a Standard +2 QStaff (one with the additional bonuses)? A staff that grants these Luck Bonuses is certainly better than a standard +2 QStaff.

I have the opinion that it should retain the secondary effects... just a personal opinion, althought I can understand opposing views....

Ah, but there really are TWO questions on the table:

1. SHOULD it be more than just a +2 staff?

2. Is it, per the RAW, more than a +2 staff.

For number 1, I am undecided. For number 2, +2 quarterstaff.

I'd rule just plain +2 Quarterstaff as well. The various cites in this thread seem fairly clear to me.

Do you mind telling me which specific citations you found particularly convincing?

Believe me, I've thought of that.

I saw someone try to slip that past a DM once - he wanted to start out purchasing a staff of power with only one charge left! He even tried to factor everything but the +2 into prorating.
